    Hello,

    I was recommended via Microsoft-Chat to download the HDD Eraser App, because I want to erase all Data from my old 360 (original model) since there are obviously still some personal informations on my hdd. I tried to do so, but I cannot find the App in the
    Store on my 360. Is this App still available?

    Xbox 360 'Social' App 'HDD Eraser'

    I noticed there is an app now on the Xbox App Marketplace called 'HDD Eraser'. I ran it and it and you are offered to erase everything on your hard drive with (what appears to be) a push of the 'A' button. Has anyone else seen this? This seems a little suspicious
    to me.

    I figured it out. I even formatted it a few more times just to see if it worked which it didn't. I have been contacting XBox support on Twitter with not that much help. Anyways, I was looking through the apps on the app store on XBox and I came across an
    app called HDD Eraser so I decided to give it a try and it worked and I have managed to get the previous owner's email from the XBox off. So I think that it would be good for others who buy a used XBox to format and also use HDD Eraser just to be on the safe
    side.

    There is no such thing as a Hard Drive eraser app. I'm not sure who recommended it to you but you were misinformed.

    If you would like to erase the hard drive of your console then please head over to Settings>System>Storage and reformat the drive.

    that's a new one on me. It must not have been available in all regions. If you cannot find the app then it has been removed. Just follow my instructions to reformat the drive which will wipe it completely clean

    Sorry, no, this does not solve the problem that I still find the name of my old PC, which it was connected to, as a source to show pictures (choose source: digital camera, actual disc, mobile device, MYOLDPC). How do I delete this?

    Sorry, no, this does not solve the problem that I still find the name of my old PC, which it was connected to, as a source to show pictures (choose source: digital camera, actual disc, mobile device, MYOLDPC). How do I delete this?

    Just format the entire HDD. That will erase everything on the HDD, and it will be a clean slate for the person you are selling the Xbox to.
