  1. HDCP Support for Monitors

So I've been having a problem trying to Wirelessly Display my phone using ScreenCast to my Xbox One. I have a similar issue with watching DVD's.

For connecting my phone, the error "Unable to enable Screen Mirroring. HDCP is not supported by the connected device." is shown.

For watching DVD's on the BluRay app, the error "Disc stopped. Make sure your TV's HDMI input supports HDCP rights management. If not, try plugging your Xbox into a different TV input (0x91d7000a)".

I use a Hanns-G HW191D monitor with a 3 way HDMI splitter. Has anyone else had similar problems? Found any ways to bypass this? Please let me know!

    :)

HDMI to DVI adapter cable not working for me

Hmm... the page for the monitor doesn't seem to show HDCP support. Newegg's page says it doesn't support HDCP either. It's entirely possible there's no HDCP, hence why it's not working.

While DVI does not preclude HDCP support, there are monitors that lack it.

Xbox 360 Video resolution problem - Solution

You might see video or movie in reduced resolution on your HDTV or monitor. To play a DVD, an HD-DVD, or a downloaded movie in high definition, the High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) protocol is required. But all TVs, monitors, or adapters don’t support HDCP.

So, you have to ensure that your HDTV supports HDCP. You’ll get more info at your TV user manual. DVI ports don’t support the HDCP protocol. You cannot use a DVI port and adapter to connect an HDMI cable to your console. You can try another cable, such as an Xbox Component HD A/V Cable or a VGA cable.

I believe you can't have any interruptions in the HDMI cable (splitters for example) as they don't transfer the HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection). Try removing the splitter and directly connecting your cable to your monitor.

  6. Doing some searching on your monitor it seems that the monitor itself just doesn't support HDCP and no matter what cable you use you will get the error.

    Using monitor for the xbox

If the monitor properly supports HDCP, the 360 should allow selection of HDTV display modes. If you're getting resolutions instead of HDTV modes, then the monitor either doesn't support HDCP or the monitor and the 360 cannot communicate properly. I wouldn't
put it past Acer to remove HDCP support from a monitor model with no HDMI input.

There are some adjustments in the monitor UI. Try the Focus adjustment if available.
