HDCP issues with Live TV only

I’m not sure if this is a dead topic now but it’s new to me. I’ve been running a TiVo romamio though a xbox one day one with out issues for years. Upgaded to a one x and got the hdcp error: even when going though an xbox one s i get the same error. Going
though a day one xbox it works fine (tried it on two of them) Tried the power fix and playing with cables to no avail all boxes are on 10.0.17764.3062

Misses Quinzel: It's been well over a month+ and the HDCP issue has not returned on my box. Thank you for having this issue addressed for us all. Like Silvanus4031, I also have other, not as impactful, issues, but will explore them via appropriate subject

So far I have not had this issue. Now I have new issues which I will post where appropriate. Why do I feel like I am Beta Testing the Xbox One?

Paul from the Xbox Forums Team here to assist, it sounds like you're experiencing an issue with connectivity fort he TiVo application. I was able to find an

article that I believe may be helpful in resolving the issue. As well are you using the same TV that is being used by the original Xbox One? Please let us know!

Thanks for the responce Paul. Same tv same original xbox one. The tivio will work on the tv if i bypass the xbox. However if i use the same setup (same tv, same tivo) though a xbox one s or x i get the hdmi not permited screen from the tivo while watching
tv though the “one guide” app. Makes no difference if i use 4k output or not.

This a link from tivo’s troubleshooting.. when speaking to tivo they said to contact micosoft hahha they passed the buck.

What i get from the link, if i am understanding it correctly that the tivo isnt getting the copyright hdmi protection code from the xbox one s/x

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with Connecting TiVo to the Xbox One for setting up the OneGuide feature.

There are a few requirements to use the
OneGuide with your TV and Xbox One:

• A cable or satellite set-top box with HDMI output, or an Xbox One USB TV Tuner.
• A connection to Xbox Live to download channel lineup information for OneGuide.
• A Kinect sensor or an IR emitter cable.

Unfortunately, as stated in the
TiVo Support article. It seems like the feature will not be applied due to the hardware for TiVo.

TiVo products have different HDMI requirements:

• Roamio Series, Premiere Series, Series3, and TiVo HD DVRs require an HDCP key only when you try to view or record copy-protected material while an HDMI cable or HDMI-to-DVI adapter cable is connected to the box.
• Roamio Series, Premiere Series, and TiVo HD DVRs require an HDCP key any time that you are viewing digital content, whether the content is copy protected or not, if an HDMI cable or HDMI-to-DVI adapter cable is connected to the box.

It somewhat helps... i guess the million dollar questions will be: “if it works works on the xbox one (original) but doesnt work with the xbox one s/x, can i assume that this is a firmware item? If so is it a matter of time till the original xbox one stops
working or perhaps an update for the one s/x that will fix the issue?

I don't believe it's a firmware issue since all Xbox's receive the same software and firmware updates but the one thing that does separate the original Xbox One with the newer models is the HDMI cable that comes with the consoles as the HDMI cable that comes
with the newer console's is a high speed HDMI 2.0 cable capable of 4K/HDR quality while the one for the original is limited to 1080p quality. It may be that your TiVo box cannot receive the HDCP key through the newer consoles due to this difference in HDMI
capabilities.

Also make sure your TV is up to date with it's own firmware and that it supports HDCP 2.2 and that it's turned on in your TV's settings.
