HDCP issues with Live TV only

As with everyone else who has posted here, I too am having the same intermittent issue as described in the first thread. My provider is Comcast and my STB is a Cisco RNG200. I think the TV that's connected to my XB1 is irrelevant, but if it ultimately
helps in solving the problem, it's a Samsung PNC50C680G5F. I turn my XB1 on via voice or button the same way each time with the issue occurring intermittently with either. I also can get things to work by unplugging or re-setting my XB1 but think it's totally
ridiculous that my $500+ piece of technology requires unplugging and re-setting to work properly . Please pass on my absolute frustration as well and let me know if I can provide any other information to help out.

XBOX One OS Version: 6.2.11274.0 (xb_rel_1407.140703-1704) fre

As a side note, I have been able to get the display back by going into Settings > Display & Sound and changing the "TV Connection" setting from "Auto-Detect" to "HDMI" (if I am on HDMI today I will have to change it to auto detect when I turn it on tomorrow).

I believe what is happening is that the XBOX ONE is no longer negotiating the HDCP connection with the STB when powered on from it's "instant on" state. That would explain why changing the connection works, because it forces the negotiation.

Anyway ... would be nice if this was fixed

Strangely I go this kind of error during playback of a rented Xbox Video movie. Seems not all related to the live tv Pass-Through.

I was watching the movie already fpr 30min - then - error message from xbox.

After back some fiddling around, restarting Xbox Video it worked again. Very annoying...

 

Misses Quinzel... I posted earlier noting the same error as others on this string. I changed out my cable box (Comcast) from an older RNG200 to an RNG200N also called xbox support. We tried a few things, changing auto on then off... also, switched HDMI
cables and switched them around as well. I continue to receive the same error. I neglected to provide my OS before, per your instructions it's:

I have been having the exact same issues as described in this thread. I also have the xbox1 to Comcast Cisco RNG200N. I have a newer LG 487600 smart tv so it definitely is not the tv producing this problem and based on what others have stated here that supports
this assumption. I would definitely love to have a solution to this problem. As others have stated it is very frustrating to spend $500 on a device and have it work intermittently. This is one of several issues that I have had since I got the xbox1. Of course
updates have corrected everything except this new HDCP problem. Please help!

 

Hey, guys! The August update should have resolved this issue. Please let me know if you are all good now, or if you are still not working!

 

Yep ... I'll agree . I gave it a few days to fail, but everything is good since the update. This update also seems to have made the mic a bit more sensitive, I only have to tell it "XBOX ON" maybe 2 times before it powers up. Great job on the patch, thanks!

 

So far I have not had this issue. Now I have new issues which I will post where appropriate. Why do I feel like I am Beta Testing the Xbox One?

Hey, guys! If you are still experiencing the static/snowy screen or the HDCP error, I've got word that they should be resolved. If you haven't received the most recent update yet, please attempt to force the October update by going to Settings >
System > Update Console if you have the option. If you are on the current Xbox One Operating System and still experiencing these issues, please feel encouraged to
post back in here. We'll need a few things from you!

• What OS are you running (as found in the link above)?
• What TV brand and model do you have?
• What is the manufacturer and model number of your set top box?

This will help the investigating teams narrow down what the possible issue is.
