    HDCP error code on LG OLED C9 tv with Xbox one S


    I have been trying to watcha 4K ultra hd movie with my new tv on my xbox bit when I try to play it, it shows me an error code. I have tried all the troubleshooting steps microsoft says but nothing works. I have also tried reseting the tv to factory settings
    and trying all the different hdmi ports. After all of that I am still unsuccesful and have not been able to watch any movie.

    • Disc Stopped. Make sure your TV's HDMI input supports HDCP rights management. If not, try plugging your console into a different TV input.

    Thanks for the reply

    I do not have any audio equipment connected to the tv or the xbox. I have also checked and all the hdmi ports are hdcp compliant.

    Hi JonathanRenk,

    Can I ask how have you got your Xbox One connected to your TV? Consider the following:

    If using a soundbar/AV receiver/HDMI ARC try connecting the HDMI to the TV and use a TOSlink/optical cable to connect audio to the audio equipment.

    Also check the HDMI ports in your TV manual, not all of them could be HDCP compliant and you may need to switch HDMI ports.

    What do you play on?

    I recently started playing on a 55 "LG 4K OLED Tv (B9) and it is currently the best TV to play on. The newer LG C9 model is also highly recommended. Low latency, good and natural colors, future-proof standards such as eARC, HDMI 2.2 and Dolby Vision
    are also supported!
