HD resolutions not working for most TVs via HDMI

I have been facing what seems to be a worryingly common issue on my Xbox One S, and have not been able to find a solution.

If I have it connected to my 720p projector, it works just fine, and runs at 720p. If I disconnect it from my projector and connect it to any of my 720p or 1080p TVs - of which I have three - each of the TVs say there is no signal when running at 720p or
1080p. I get no audio and no video.

I have tried the obvious things - ensuring the correct HDMI port is being used on the console, trying multiple HDMI cables, trying other devices on the TVs (all of which - PS4 included - work fine on each TV), and (as mentioned) trying other TVs. I have
also tried the hard reset and low resolution methods, and while the 640x480 resolution does work, subsequently changing the resolution to 720p or 1080p results in a no signal message again.

This is extremely frustrating as my Xbox One S is essentially useless unless connected to one specific projector, which I no longer want to use it on. I expect it to work equally well on all of my HDMI displays.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    :)

    HD Benefits......

Most HDMI cable will work fine with the console and can be found for less than $20 in store (BestBuy, Walmart, FutureShop, etc). And it is better to use HDMI than Component to get full 1080p HD resolution but your 32inch TV may not support more than 720p
definition (most TVs smaller than 40inch are maxed at 720p)

    Make screen resolution smaller

How is your console connected to your TV? The available resolutions depend on your connection, and if it's an HD connection such as VGA or HDMI, your TV will determine available resolutions. :)

Xbox One S (All Digital Edition) and an older TV (LG 32LH2000)

    Hi,

Yes these consoles are HDMI only and can only be connected via HDMI. You don't need a backup option. The console will automatically select the correct resolution for the TV. The console and the TV are compatible, it will work.

I have my xbox one wired up with a HD PVR 2, and got this error, wired it direct into the tv (LG 42" most recent Non smart tv) via the bundled HDMI Lead. Sorted.

If your television has HDMI inputs then it is an HD tv. HD tvs are classified because of their resolution though.

As for OP question... I guess we are waiting to see if they're on a standard tv or HD without the right hookups. I sorta hope the latter for OP's sake.
