HD Audio Bitstream Out on Xbox one and New Xbox One S

Hi there,

Does anyone happen to know the answer to this question, on the upcoming Xbox One S if you use it to watch a UHD Blu-Ray disk will the settings allow you to have a full HD Bitstream out for the Audio? On my current Xbox one if I use it to watch a Blu-ray
the sound output is whatever I have it set on (Dolby Digital of DTS) and it does not allow me to have the Full Dolby True HD or DTS HD MA that is on the disc. I would like to keep using the bitstream out instead of using PCM.

Will the New One S allow this so the Full soundtrack of the disk can be listened to (especially now that Dolby Atmos and DTS X are around) and can I have a full Bitstream out like a standalone player on my Current One so I can stop using my Standalone player?

Bitstream support ALL THE WAY or not?

Can somebody please tell me if there ever will be a bitstream audio support for every source on Xbox One S?

I´m in Preview Ring 4, bitstream via Bluray app works for me...but how about general audio bitstream support? Playing files with HD audio via USB (MediaPlayer, VLAN...)...

Xbox One S and Sonos dd5.1

I have sonos 5.1 in my front room and this worked fine with my Original Xbox One using bitstream output. But now with my new Xbox One S I can't get any audio output when setting the xbox to output over bitstream.

Any indication when and if this will be supported/enabled on the Xbox One S?

There is little known about the Xbox One S other than what you mentioned above with the 4K HDR. You'll need to wait till closer till August for the full details and features list (if any audio settings change at all). See
this link for all the current info on the system.

 

I'd really like to get an answer to this question too. I recently upgraded my entire home theater to a 7.1.4 speaker setup (that's the standard 7.1 plus 4 speakers on the ceiling). This takes full advantage of the new Dolby Atmos and DTS-X audio codes.

So if this new Xbox One S doesn't allow us to use the new 4K / UHD Disk's full audio options (and standard Blu-ray audio options for that matter), then that will definitely be a deal breaker for me.

 

I think this unboxing video below is the closest thing you'll get to info on the One S (right now). Unfortunately it doesn't say if they've made changes to the sound settings. Keep following the link above and xbox.com for more info on the One S as it comes.

 

Now that the Xbox One S is almost two weeks away can we please get some details on this?
