HBO Now issues

I've had a few issues with the HBO now app, mainly the random freezing mid-stream which requires a force close of the app (which still takes like ~1min+ before it actually closes). After the recent update to the app, it is now also activating the inactivity
dimming mid-stream and requires you to push a button on the controller to bring it back to normal. The dimming issue also occurs on other apps, such as Twitch.

Any ideas to resolve, or is this a known issue being looked at?

I am having the same issue.

 

Me too. Also, has anyone noticed that the audio on HBO Now is not in surround mode? Netflix and games are in surround but not HBO Now.

 

I'm also having the issue with the screen dimming after the last update.

 

I have the same issue. Contacted HBO and the basically said "we're working on it". A new update just came out and it's still doing it. Just annoying.

 

My HBO NOW app will dim the screen after watching a movie/episode for 10 minutes or so, and I have to move the joystick or press on the controller to get it to not dim. This only started after the last update. Please fix

 

I can't get the app to work at all. It loads the menus, and that's it. Occasionally it gives me a fun error message that HBO Now is currently unavailable. How long is the period of currently? As of now it's been a full day since I subscribed.

I wanted to drop in to see if you're still experiencing issues with the screen dimming or if it has cleared up for you? If you haven't already please perform a full power cycle on your Xbox One by holding down the power button for 8-10 seconds (until your
Xbox One powers off) and start it back up to see if there is any change. Let us know what's up!

 

I not having a dimming issue however I am having a freezing video issue. My download speed is 25Mbps consistent. All other streaming apps work fine it is only HBO Now. I have power cycled the equipment, deleted and reinstalled the app, and adjusted the firewall
settings on the gateway to no avail. My NAT is always open and I don't seem to have any networking issues. There is an issue going on with this app in particular and I would appreciate it if someone from Microsoft/Xbox could look into this. I will be delivering
this message to HBO tech support as well hopefully this will get resolved.
