HBO Now App

    I would like to now is the hbo now app streaming in SD because the video stream does not look clear like it should in HD I hope they fix this.

    Does the HBO Now app support 5.1 audio?

    Will the HBO Now app produce 5.1 (or better yet 7.1) audio out to my AV receiver via HDMI?

    Or is it just stereo like the Chromecast HBO Now app?

    HBO NOW/GO

    HBO GO is for cable subscribers which has an Xbox app. This is why the options are all for cable providers and does not include Apple. HBO NOW is the direct HBO subscription through iTunes/Apple which does NOT (currently) have an Xbox app. I'm in the exact
    same boat. There is a kind of lame workaround though (link below) but requires an additional subscription app to work.

    Appears to be streaming in HD to me. Got a little pixelated during an shows opening sequence where there was a lot of motion and color. Other than that, looks like 1080 to me.

    My only app requests as of right now is HBO GO and XFINITY On Demand. I was really hoping HBO would push out their app before Game of Thrones Season 4 starts but their cutting it close now.
