HBO Go app on Xbox One not loading

Hi everyone,

I am having an issue with my HBO Go app and I have done everything I can think of to solve it. Hoping someone here has had the same issue.

As it stands, I can navigate through the entire HBO Go app. I can see new episodes from yesterday so I know everything is updating properly. When I go to play a video I get through the first part (it says HBO Go, then shows the ratings of the show). When
the video is finally ready to play I get 3 loading dots on the bottom and that's it. It never gets beyond that and there is no error code.

I'm sure it is not an issue with my internet or Xfinity as a whole because HBO Go works on my phone, laptop, and PC whether it's wireless or hard wired.

I am on a wireless connection for my Xbox One. I am still able to use the ESPN App for video streaming and I can play online games just fine so that narrows it down to the app itself.

Here's what I've tried so far

- Hard reset Xbox One (held down button for 30 seconds, waited 10 minutes, restarted)

- Hard reset Xbox One again (turned off, unplugged from wall, waited 10 minutes, restarted)

- Reset internet (unplugged gateway, waited 10 minutes, plugged back in)

- Uninstalled HBO Go, then reinstalled

- Deactivated HBO Go, then reactivated

- Moved HBO Go app from external hard drive to native Xbox One hard drive

- Contacted Xbox support

- Contacted Xfinity Support

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When will XBOX ONE have an HBO GO app? Will it be ready soon or will XBOX ONE never have an HBO GO app?

 

Is the XBOX team even listening? Xbox One.

Microsoft does not own HBO.....it is up to HBO to make their app, and they are taking their time with that....complain in an HBO forum if you want HBO GO on xbox one. Referring to the OP's signature.....

I don't really have the option to do that short of taking my Xbox somewhere else. However, I don't believe the network is the issue because all of my other devices work just fine with the HBO Go app.

 

Hey LinKaGe Z! Do you have the ability to use your phone as a network at all? The reason I ask to test another network is because the Xbox interacts with your network in a unique way which may cause issues even though other devices work just fine. Post back
