Having Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (and LIVE Gold) on multiple Xbox consoles in the same house

Game Pass is a subscription service like Netflix or Amazon video, except for video games. Personally I think it's wonderful and offers amazing variety and quality for your money.

This being said, however, There is one massive issue I've come across. I live with my parents and one sibling and we recently puchased a new Xbox series S to share beween my dad and my brother and I. Beforehand we had been using Game Pass on our Xbox One S and were excited to have two xbox consoles in the house. The idea was that in one room we would have the Xbox Series and the other the Xbox one. This way should one person be using the Xbox series or the TV in the front room another person could use the Xbox in the other room having Game Pass on both consoles so everyone is happy.

Sounds simple enough right? So did I. Turns out (Unknown to me at the time) Game Pass can only be shared to others on a console on ONE Xbox. This really put a stick in out plans on being able to play both. We though old games we had on disk could be reserved for Xbox one and the lack of disk drive on the new Xbox wouldn't matter. But Game Pass unltimate also covers XBOX LIVE Gold meaning we couldn't play anything online either making the old xbox near enough useless for most games.

So going back to my original point... It's like something like Netflix, and yes i get there's an issue with sharing passwords and thats why Microsoft makes you only able to have one home Xbox for your account but for a family like mine it really ruins the chance to use two Xbox consoles. Unlike Netflix though you can use that on as many devices as you please. So my final point is Microsoft please add some way to prove you keep both Xbox's in your home so you can use Game Pass Ultimate on both without having to buy a whole new subscription and then maybe further off in the future add a new teir to Game Pass for two consoles for Game Pass maybe, I just think it's really upsetting, confusing and unfair compared to other Subscription services like Netflix.

I had xbox gold, upgraded to ultimate. Just bought a second xbox. Can I enjoy the total ultimate package on both xbox consoles.Would like to use the gold and game pass on both consoles in the same house

I would like to recommend you the Microsoft Rewards program.

If you have a family account, then you can share the points with the major account.

My understanding is that the ability to transfer Rewards points over to family accounts has been suspended with no news on if it will come back. From what I have read on this forum, it seems they disabled it back at the beginning of June for whatever reason

However, Rewards is a good option for UGP purchase....I first got UGP in August and, thanks to rewards,m I have only had to actually pay for 1 month with the rest since then from points redemptions

No the idea Is to prevent theft not allow you to steal

It's NOT an unlimited license you get two licenses by any console

Primary console license and roaming licence that's it

Anything else would have any developer revolt because it would be against the law you are taking away people's work for free

Only 2 licenses one console license and one account which can roam anything else is theft

As you could give it out to the neighborhood

Buying a game doesn't mean you can steal

You have to work within the limitation of the licenses

No game developer will ever allow you to steal their product and give away access to an unlimited amount of people

Everytime you hand over access to your account you run the risk of fraud

Litterally people could run your account creditcard

And no thats not the way to abuse the system.and it happens as piepole actually freely hand over their passwords for free access to games only to be resold

Anyone eould do would br abandoned and sued by the developers

Licenses aren't meant to be abused its a privilege not a right

We could always go back to the old system no shared gold or plus membership and only license transfer for console once a year

Only Nintendo allows for 5 profiles but thwn again they are charging 25 for that right but not so great service as it's still.I'm beta it's nowhere close to being a complete service lacking apps and key developed services and you aren't sharing dlc on 5 accounts

Agreed. So basically, the situation is this - there needs to be an XBOX Live (or Ultimate or Gold or whatever) subscription for each and every piece of hardware, be it PC or XBOX in the house for all of the dads and several kids to all get online together to play a multiplayer game. That sure is expensive each month if you have a lot of kids. Microsoft needs to come up with a pricing solution there.
