Having trouble with profiles?????

can someone help me please my kids have had the xbox360 for months and then all of a sudden last week they lost some profiles so brilliant 7 year old reformatted hard drive, now we cant save any profiles at all, can someone tell me please what i need to
do, it gets up to the stage where it tells u to enter profile name thinks about it then goes back to that same screen.

When I go to enforce gamertags its telling me theres been an error occurred we have best support team on it but its been like this for aweek at least. Please can someone help me with this problem please.

It will update eventually but if you really can't wait then contact support for your region & see if they can help.

Really sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if the hard drive was formatted, all information that was on it is lost.

You can still try
Downloading the Profiles by using that link, but it won't bring back any game saves, etc that were on the hard drive. It will only bring back the profiles/Gamerscore and access to any cloud saves they may have had.

Reading your post though, it honestly sounds like the hard drive may have corrupted. When a hard drive corrupts, it suggests that you reformat it (which is the only way to fix it). So if the 7 year old managed to find the option to format it, I'm assuming they
were probably directed there because the hard drive corrupted. That would also explain why (after formatting it) the hard drive still isn't acting right.

You may want to look into getting a new hard drive. But before you do that, I'd try formatting the hard drive again, just to be sure (it can't hurt if it's already been formatted). Then

Clear the System Cache. Then try
Downloading the Profiles again.

If you're still getting issues at that point, post up what you're seeing. Sorry that happened, but hope that helps!

Hi,

As there are a small number of people reporting issues with this at the moment, I'd recommend keeping an eye on the following pages:

In the meantime, test the following:

1. Test logging in to your profile at account.xbox.com in an incognito window on an alternate device.

2. Unplug your Xbox console and leave it unplugged for 2 minutes before testing it again.

3. If you are on Xbox One, reset the console and if you are on Xbox 360, clear the cache:

Resetting Xbox One

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.
Select Reset console.
On the Reset your console? screen, you'll see three options, select the following:
- Reset and keep my games & apps. Use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps. In some cases, if a corrupt game file
  is causing the issue you're troubleshooting, you may have to choose Reset and remove everything, but you should always start with Reset and keep my games & apps.

After you select one of the options, your Xbox One console will begin the process of erasing the selected content and resetting itself to the default settings.

Clearing Cache on Xbox 360

Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.
Select Storage.
Highlight but don’t select a storage device, and then press the Y button on your controller for Device Options.
Note It doesn't matter which storage device you choose. This clears the cache for all storage devices.
On the Device Options screen, select Clear System Cache.
When prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select Yes.

When you’ve successfully cleared the system cache, you’ll return to the Storage Devices screen. You can then press the Guide button on the controller and return to Xbox Home.
