Having trouble with my Xbox 360 not powering on

I would like to recommend taking a look at this article that covers that

Additionally, I would like to verify that you have your console connected directly into an outlet, and not into a surge protector, or extension cord, as this can cause the console to behave in ways it was not intended to.

and see if this helps with powering on your console.

Hi, I have an Xbox 360 that the power supply seems to be failing on. I would like to purchase a new power supply but am having trouble finding one, would a power supply for a Xbox 360s slim be compatible?

No. The xbox 360 slim power supplies have a completely different connector so those wont work with a normal 360.

Thank you, I will give it a try as soon as I get back home and I won't keep it plugged in to a surge protector. Did not know that was the case. Figured I was doing something good having it plugged into a surge protector. I will update you on the situation
