Having trouble with HDMI

I believe you need a capture card for this ribbons0121r121. Many of them are out there. Without one of these you will not be able to record
videos. I tried the way you have and learned this will not work. I went out and bought a capture card with the software and have had no issues. Like the other Ambassadors have said, most PC/Laptops will not allow this sort of setup.

Unfortunately you cannot plug in an Xbox One into the HDMI port in a laptop and use it as a display. If I'm not mistaken, laptops only have an HDMI OUT port to passthrough video and audio to another display, like a TV, when using an HDMI cable. It works
on your TV because the HDMI ports on the TV are only HDMI IN, where the ports are accepting the data. HDMI OUT ports only send data and do not receive data transmitted through an HDMI cable. The cable connects to the HDMI OUT port on the Xbox and plugs into
a display (TV or monitor) through the HDMI IN port on the display.

You can use the Xbox Console Companion app on the laptop to connect wirelessly while both are connected to the same home network. You need to allow game streaming on the Xbox and be signed into the same account on the console and the app for it too work.

Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. We understand the connection is not working when using a splitter to two displays. Are you able to see the picture when only one is connected? Try both connected separately and see if they show the picture.
If they do it may be the splitter you are using that is not working correctly.

I can see it on the tv, but it's not working on the computer regardless of how many connections.

I called support and got it fixed. While your xbox is turned on. Press the power button and hold it pressed for 10-15 seconds. Then let the button go. This flushes out the cache. Fixed it for me. TV is working fine now.
