Having trouble with 2factor id

Where are you trying to reset your live id password? If you want to reset it you should login to login,live.com and reset it there.

[/quote]If you do not have a USB or Data Transfer Kit, sign into your account and select join Xbox LIVE. If your profile name is the same as a gamertag name that is already in use, you will not be able to convert your local account to a Xbox LIVE account.
In this situation, back out of the setup and edit your profile name to a different desired gamertag. Once you have chosen a name that is available, your achievements and game progress should be transferred over. Doing this will also allow you to

download your profile.

If the profile you're talking about is an offline profile, which was never made as an Xbox Live account, you'll be able to get it on your new Xbox 360 by transferring it either via the data transfer kit, or simply by putting it on a USB flash drive and putting
it on your new system:

If you don’t want to download your profile to another console using the above steps, you can move your profile to another console using a USB flash drive or Xbox 360 Memory Unit. Here’s how:

1. Plug a USB flash drive or an Xbox 360 Memory Unit (original Xbox 360 console only) into your console.
   
2. Go to Settings, and then select Storage.
3. Select All Devices.
4. Select Gamer Profiles, and then select your gamer profile.
5. Select Move.
6. Select the USB Storage Device or Memory Unit that you want to move your profile to.
   
7. Remove the USB flash drive or memory unit from your console, and take it to another console.
   

When you use the profile for the first time on a console, you will be prompted to enter your Windows Live ID password to sign in.

Important When you move your profile to another console, you’ll be prompted for your Windows Live ID password. This password requirement is to protect the security of your account if your storage device is lost or stolen. For information on how to
protect your profile, see Password protect your Xbox LIVE profile.

When you’re done playing on your friend’s console, take the USB flash drive or memory unit back home and plug it into your console. If you want to move your profile back to your hard drive, go back to Settings, Storage.

So, you got a new xbox console, and now you want to get you're old account on to it. You're windows live ID is the email you used to sign up for it, i'm pretty sure you must have had to enter one.

If your old email was deleted and you can't get it back , you can always make a new emal or contact hotmail and they may be able tto recover that back for you.
