I have no picture while using HDMI cables (might have sound)

The first thing you can do to trouble shoot this issue is to try unplugging and reinserting your HDMI cable when the picture goes out (black screen). You could also try substituting a different type of cable, either component or composite. If either of these
solutions work, even temporarily, your TV might not support HDCP, the security that the Xbox 360 console uses with HDMI. You can further test this by trying your console with HDMI on a different TV.

My high-definition video is playing at a lower resolution

The Xbox 360 console uses High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) protocol for playing high-definition movies over HDMI cables. Some TVs, devices, and adapters do not support this and may cause issues.

Refer to your device manual or website to make sure it supports this protocol. If it doesn’t using a different type of cable or using a different TV should fix the issue.

My screen has a green or purple tint, is flickering, or showing “ghost” images

If you are noticing any of these odd display issues, you should first make sure your console is up to date. If you are connected to LIVE at all times, you should have been prompted for any available updates. If you don’t have your console connected to LIVE,
you can always update by downloading the update on your computer and putting it on a USB device or burning it to a DVD or CD. Instructions and files can be found

    here
    .

You should also try removing any extra devices or adapters between the TV and your console (sound systems, extension cords, etc.). Connect the console directly into the TV.

If your TV has any kind of “noise-reduction” option, please try turning this off. See your TV manual or website for instructions.

I have four flashing red lights on my console and no picture

This signals that your AV cables are not properly connected. Make sure to check for loose or damaged cables.

I have no picture or my picture looks funny

Some basic things to try include:

    1. Remove and reinsert your A/V cables
    2. Set the TV to display the correct input (ex. HDMI 1, HDMI 2, Component 1, etc.)
    3. Set the HD AV cable to the correct setting (“TV” when using 3 prongs, “HDTV” when using 5)
You can also do a general reset of your display settings and can be used to simply reset your console back to its factory defaults.

    1. If there is a disc in the console, remove it.
    2. Turn off the console.
    3. Turn on the console by using your controller. To do this, press and hold the controller's Xbox Guide button until your console turns on.
    4. While the console is starting, press and hold the Y button and pull the right trigger at the same time. Continue holding the buttons when you see the Xbox 360 logo.
The console will restart and hopefully your video issue is fixed.

Note: If multiple controllers are connected to your console, make sure that you use the player one controller. You can recognize the player one controller because the upper-left quadrant of the Guide button is lit up on that controller.

I’m still having trouble with my audio or video.

If you are having an issue that isn’t helped by the above troubleshooting, please create or find a thread in this forum to post your unique issue. Please include the following information:

Describe the issue you are seeing.

What type of audio/video cable(s) are you using.

What model Xbox 360 console are you using (original or S).

Are you receiving any error messages or codes?

    :)

Trouble hearing or seeing media on your TV.

Hopefully something in the link will help.

Have you tried watching a film using the console on a different TV via HDMI?, just to make sure all is well there.

    Hi there Leper,

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with the compatibility between the Xbox One Media remote and TV.

Check out the following troubleshooting article:

If the problem persists, try this:

The Media Remote works for most functions but will not control my TV

Controlling your TV with the Media Remote requires you to first configure your Xbox One to control your TV through the console settings. To learn how to do this, see

Set up live TV with your Xbox One
    .

Try this out and let us know the results.

Subwoofer only works for Blurays... not games or apps

    Heya BamBoozler.

Sorry to hear the troubles you're having! To check, are you passing your Xbox One through a receiver or are you outputting the audio from your TV to a receiver?
