ive gone through the set up multiple times all with no luck. ive done auto set up as well as manual set up each multiple times. do you need a kinect or something else to control your cable box or is it just mine not working

Using xbox one to watch tv without kinnect

I have an comcast xfinity cable box with the xr2. I am having trouble setting up the "cable or satellite" box section under device control. I would like to be able to change channels with the controller or using smart glass but it's extremely confusing.

Help with Cisco 9865HDC cable box!!

My Xbox one will not control the Cisco 9865HDC cable box. I even bought IR blaster to set in front of cable box and it still will not control it. The xbox will control my tv and surround sound though.

You cannot as far as I know. The Xbox One cannot control those features of the Cable Box. But I do not have cable so I haven't tested it. I have heard it won't control that or the DVR on your cable box.

What remote code are you using for the rng150? I can't seem to get any connection between the xboxone controller and the cable box.

Just got an XboxOne for Xmass and its having this same problem. When my Xbox One is hooked up between the TV and the Cable box the content that is recorded on my Cable box randomly jumps ahead through out the show. It usually gets worse as the show progresses.
It is recorded on the cable box DVR that way and not just a playback issue. It makes no sense. Just to trouble shoot the problem I returned my cable box and got a new one...same problem. If I remove the Xbox from the loop the problem goes away. I am not playing
games on my Xbox when this occurs so I know its not the game pad interfering. The cable box I have is a Samsung and I use Time Warner. Would love this to get figured out. I love having the Xbox hooked up on the same input as the cable. As of now I cant do
that with this problem.

Ya,i actually get what your getting at.i'm pretty sure though the xbox one has an hdmi input so you can plug your cable box directly to your xbox one.if they turned the xbox one as your primary cable box then you are screwed if lets say you're having trouble
with the game playing function of the system but not the tv and you have to mail it in for service.with xbox it will take over a month until you get yourconsole back which leaves you with no tv for that time period.
