  1. Having trouble connecting to realms on Minecraft, Windows 10 Edition

Thanks in advance for anyone able to help,

Upon attempting to use realms on Minecraft, Windows 10 Edition, I was met with this response: "You Need Permission: You cannot play on Realms because of how your Xbox Live account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy and online safety settings
    on xbox.com"

After trying to reach the page related to online safety settings, I clicked the link to "account.xbox.com" that is supposed to allow me to change these settings. However, this simply links back to the original page. This account was created from windows
10 and I am the controller of the account, and there are no privacy settings preventing me from doing this to my knowledge. If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

    :)

Having trouble connecting to realms on Minecraft, Windows 10 Edition

    Please try this address:
    https://account.xbox.com/settings
. If you get a page about adding a child account to a parent account, you entered a birthdate for that account that isn't of legal adult age yet.

In that case, ask a parent to go to https://account.microsoft.com/family and have them sign in with their adult parent account. Have them add your child account to the family.
After your account was added, have them go to https://account.xbox.com/settings and sign in with their parent account. They then select your account, and make the necessary changes
to your online and privacy settings.

You need to be able to play online multiplayer with others and to be able to see creations of other players.

Can't Connect to a Friend in Minecraft Windows 10 Edition

    Hi there!

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this issue. Sorry to hear that you're unable to connect to a buddy in Minecraft. Its possible that you're unable to connect with your other friend due to a NAT type issue on their end, since you've successfully
been able to connect with others on your end. However, you did say that there are already 4 others in there with you and with Minecraft: Windows 10 edition, you'd be limited to playing with 4 others online (or locally) unless you are subscribers of Minecraft
Realms (this allows up to 10).

For a bit more info regarding that, I recommend the following articles:

I hope that this helps out!

Connect to external server using Windows 10 Edition

With Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition, you can connect and play online with friends on Pocket Edition as well as the Xbox One Edition. However, until the full rollout of the upcoming Better Together update for Minecraft, you aren't able to connect to servers
outside of realms and what I've previously mentioned.

My kids can't connect to each others game on Minecraft Windows 10 Edition

Hi DimmerMedusa11. To connect and play in the same world online in Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition, your kids will need to enter a Realm together. Realms, which you can read about the introduction to Windows 10

    here
, are a dedicated online world that lets players on Windows 10, as well as Pocket Edition and the Xbox One Edition invite their friends to play and create. Realms are available for a 30-day free trial, but after that it's a monthly subscription,
as the world is hosted on Mojang and Microsoft's servers rather than any of the individual players' devices.

To access Realms, launch Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition, click on Play. From there, if you see "30 Day Free Trial", click on it and it'll show the Realms info, as well as the cost after the trial period ends ($7.99/month). From there, go ahead and click
"New Realm" and set the world up as you would any Minecraft world. If you don't see "30 Day Free Trial" button in the list of playable worlds, click "Create New", select "New Realm" in the menu across the top. From there, you can either import an existing
world from either child's world list or create a new world entirely. Hope I helped answer your question!
