Having trouble changing my gamer tag

I want to change my gamertag. So i first seached xbox to see if anyone had the gamertag i wanted and to my Surprise no one has it. But when i go to change it tells me the gamertag isnt available. has anyone came across this problem or know how to fix it

Thanks for reaching out here in Forums. Unfortunately, here in forums we do not have the appropriate tools to help with this specific issue. If a gamertag is unavailable chances are it has been assigned to another Microsoft Account that may not be active
on Xbox.

You can still get a similar tag. Try replacing a letter with a number or augment the spelling a bit.

If it says the tag is taken, then it is in use somewhere on Microsoft's servers. The tag system is in use on other Microsoft services as well so even if it isn't in use on an Xbox, it could be in use somewhere else. The system also doesn't see things like
spaces as making a gamertag unique. So you may look up "gamertag" and it won't show, but it could actually be in use as "gamer tag".

Why did my gamer-tag change? It really didn't offend nobody ( BIgBOyLuvMiLPhz )it was a funny gamer-tag to make people laugh and this was my first time actually getting reported. My friends gamer-tag were funny but when they got reported they had to change
there gamer-tag to something else or they couldn't play live at all and you gave them a (FREE GAMER-TAG CHANGE), how come I cant get that opportunity to change my gamer-tag?
