Having to reset my Xbox every time I buy a game

Hi ALTONLEWIS2, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

If I may ask, are you trying to install these games on your External hard drive? If yes, the hard drive may be corrupted, kindly move any game that you're having an issue to your Internal Storage to check if it will work just fine.

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​​

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums.

In regards to this matter, I would suggest is performing a
soft factory reset on your console. This tends to solve a myriad of hiccups with your console and it is the quickest way to find out if it could be something with the console itself.

This can be done by performing these steps:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select System > Settings > System > Console info.
3. Select Reset console.
4. On the Reset your console? screen, you'll see three options:
   

• Reset and remove everything. This option resets the console to factory settings. All user data, including accounts, saved games, settings, home Xbox associations, and all games and apps will be deleted. You should use this option when selling
  or gifting the console to someone else. You should only use this option as a last resort in some troubleshooting cases.
• Reset and keep my games & apps. You should use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps. This will save you from downloading
  or reinstalling the large game files. In some cases, if a corrupt game file is causing the issue you're troubleshooting, you may have to choose
  Reset and remove everything, but you should always start with
  Reset and keep my games & apps and save Reset and remove everything as a last resort.
  
• Cancel. To back out of this screen, simply select the
  Cancel button. No action has been taken at this point. This is a safe exit from this screen.
  

I recommend that you keep your games and app as to make sure you can get back to gaming as quickly as possible.

I haven't ran into this specifically, but there are a couple things I would try having a background in home theater equipment.

1. Try replacing the HDMI cable. It is possible that there is a handshake issue between the TV and the XBox.
2. If the XBox runs through another device, for example a sound system, try connecting directly to the TV.
3. Power cycle your devices. Simply unplug the XBox and your TV (and AV receiver if you have a surround sound system) for 30-60 seconds. Plug them back in and see if the problem continues.
4. Contact XBox Support, but I'd wait it out a bit to see if anyone else has a fix for you.

Are you using energy-savings mode or instant-on? Do you receive any error codes? And are you apart of the Preview Program?
