Having to power cycle Xbox One console constantly

Hey Everyone.

I have been having some trouble with my XB1 and I was hoping someone could help me. I've noticed since installing an 8TB Western Digital external hard drive, that I have to constantly power cycle (hard restart) my XB1. I also play some XB360 backwards compatible
games such as Bully: Scholarship Edition and Sonic the Hedgehog, but I'm not sure if that is what is causing my problem.

The reason why I have to power cycle is because when I go to launch something, be it an app or a game, it will open to the title screen as if it is loading, but after about 30 seconds it takes me back to the XB1 home screen with a pop-up saying that it is
unable to load and to try again later.

Anyone else having this issue?

Let's have you try to Power Cycle the console and see if that helps first.
How to restart or power cycle your Xbox One console. If not, are you having any other problems playing other Xbox One or Xbox 360 games?

Hello,

I have seen this also occasionally. I have two Seagate 8TB external hard drives.

As an ambassador I have also talked with lots of folks with a similar issue even without the external drives.

It seems to me that it has something to do with the online connection..

One thing I found that seems to help is that if you have your power mode set to energy saving it will shut down the console completely and then when you turn it on to play it seems to work better.

seems like the console just needs a refresh once in a while. a full shut down and then restart.

Hey y'all it usually occurs with your connection to the Xbox servers check your internet connection and perform a

power cycle and restart your router.

the Xbox teams do there best to make the console you love and they listen to your feedback constantly give them a break.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that the select window is moving constantly on it's own through the Xbox menus.
How many controllers are experiencing this issue? Is your console enrolled in the

Xbox Insider Program? We recommend
power cycling the console by holding down the power button on the console for ten seconds. Be sure to let us know the results!
