Having problems with teammates/opponents lagging and the game feeling laggy when playing! What ...

Hey guys!

I opened ports,deactivated teredo filter,changed dns,set static ip etc.

i dont know what to do anymore!

Black Ops 3 is not fun when having to deal with lagging opponents/teammates.

Any advanced tips?

Could it maybe be my MTU which is only 1480,but on all my other devices its 1492

can i change that in my xbox somehow?

Dang Krogan Vanguard, you bad.

A group of vanguards is like playing pinball. Get the timing right and you can bounce off another player's staggered opponent. When you have 4 vanguard players going it gets crazy. Definitely a good time but you have to pay attention to your teammates.

Of course, one laggy connection can ruin the situation in a big hurry.

 

where have all the black ops players gone

Are you playing from Australia. I do and often having problems getting matches (only play FFA and Gun Game). When I do eventually get a game it's usually with Americans, so get a laggy connection.

 

How are you connected ? Modem and router and isp ? and NAT? and is it you or the teammates?

 

Im connected via LAN cable i have a standard modem a fritzbox 7430 my isp is the german Telekom and its my connection,because my teammates and opponents reported that they dont lag ingame. However on my screen they do thats why its gotta be my connection.

Would mean so much if anyone could help <3

Many have come on here with problems that had a Fritzbox , I don't know if they ever got it , some routers just don't play well with xbox is all I can think of ...if your comfortable doing it , I would put it in "bridge mode" and then plug the xbox into
the main port , this will disable all the router functions and make it a passthrough modem , if it works like that , you know the fritzbox is on the fritz (yeah , that was bad ) if its still bad then its on the isp ...

 

Nah fritzbox should be good! A friend of mine has it too and its fine...

What does Black Ops 3 say about your connection?

While you're in a game, you can press the menu button to see your connection to the game.

This should tell you exactly if it's you or the other players.

 

Only way to really test is to bridge it like I said or take it to one of your friends house and test it there ...

 

Ok ingame my ping is always 66 no matter what host i play on which is a bit strange to me because ping should vary when playin on different hosts from different places... also i have a lower ping to german hosts on my pc (around 20-30ping)anyone has an idea
why it is like that?

And is every router able to do bridge mode?

 

I just read bridging is not recommended for that box ....you can read some of what others have been through on the link below , maybe something in there..

66 is actually a very good in-game ping as long as it's pretty steady. If it's steady at 66, I'd suspect it's the other players who are lagging.

Your PC may take a different route to get to the same place and could have a lower or higher ping than your Xbox.

Is your NAT in the game Open, Moderate or Strict? It should tell you on the bottom of the screen in Black Ops 3.

Not every router can go into Bridge mode.

 

Yes 66 is ok but other friends with worse connections have pings of 20 or sooo....so i just think its weird that its alwys 66.... i have an open nat after i opened the ports more tips? Would love to enjoy cod again.

 

Can this lag also be related either to my black ops 3 disc or my xbox live account? I dont think so just makin sure

 

It always being 66 is weird. It should change as you connect to different hosts in the game.

But, to be honest, low ping and Open NAT means your connection is good for playing online.

Is there anyone else in your house using your connection? Family members watching Youtube or streaming a movie on their PC or Phone or something?
