Having my gamertag changed by microsoft after one complaint by a griefer.

I used to have a good gamertag. I'd had this name for at least 4 or 5 years. Brought joy to other gamers (I'd had several messages over the years saying how it made people laugh) and generally never offended a single person. Until one day, I was happily
playing a game of World of Tanks, being an Anti-Tank sniper I was sitting on top of a cliff shooting at long distance. Suddenly, I found myself being pushed off the cliff by a griefer who then spent the entire match annoying me and everyone else in the game.
Then, to top it all off, the next time i logged in, I had to download my profile again due to my gamertag being changed by microsoft over one single complaint by this griefer. Now I'm stuck with a rubbish gamertag that I can't change unless I pay £6.79 of
my hard earned money. How is this fair, Microsoft?

ok i think u r right the haters (gamers who lost against me!im no 10 in rumble pit halo3 in the world ) are the evil ones not ms they had no other way to chalenge me, my real tag [Mod removed] is nothing offensive i think... ... but praying to pyramids and
to the one eyed devil is also evil...think about it superhugmonky!!!

The process behind these game tag changes is some other gamers and that means more than one found your gamer tag or tag's offensive, then Microsoft investigate it to see if there is something offensive about it. And if there is it's changed as to respect
the rights of all gamers on live.

These people play online just like you and just like you their views and values should be respected. So it is not Microsoft who have originally found your name offensive but your fellow gamers. It's not an evil company who has an issue with your gamer tag
but other gamers just like you.

It doesn't matter how many complaints you receive or why a person complained. The enforcement team will only issue a forced name change if your gamertag violated the code of conduct.

 

It is 100% fair that you have to pay. Why should you be given a free name of your choice after violating the Code of Conduct? It wasn't because this one griefer got what he wanted, it's the fact that they felt it was in violation. New policy is if you want
a new name then you have to pay.

 

Their is nothing you can do its like xTye said it is fair that you pay and as for the enforcement team changing your gamertag it probably was a violation of the Xbox live code of conduct.
