Having issues with launching a game or an app on Xbox 360 console? Here are some quick ...

First, turn on your console.

If you are using a Wireless Network: Go to Settings > System > Network > Select your Network > Disconnect it.

If you are using a Wired Network: Go ahead and Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the back of the console.

Next, unplug your console from the power outlet. After 10 seconds plug it back in.

Once your console is back on. Do not configure your network nor plug back in the Ethernet cable from the back of the console.

Try a game. If it works try these steps:

If you are using a Wireless Network: Go to Settings > System > Network > Select your Network > Connect to it.

Try an app.

If you are using a Wired Network: plug back in the Ethernet cable, test your Xbox Live Connection. Try an app.

Everything should be working then.

Hey there,

Launching Film & TV is correct, that's the app used by the Xbox when casting to it. Try uninstalling Film and TV them reinstalling it. With the anniversary update it switched from an Xbox App to a UWP app, that might be where you're having issues.

Is it one particular video you are having issues with, or all of your videos? What format are they? Also, Is everything connected over WiFi or Ethernet, or a combination?

 

It worked! I've had to reset my wi-fi modem before for LIVE connection problems before but not for no game when launched. I thought I'd lost another console after just 3 months use. I tried my backup console and the same response before doing this trick.
Now, I know my backup will still work as well. GT RustD100 on xboxlive. D10078 is my old account.

 

Let me just say it worked for the past few hours until I switched a game or two. Sometimes it will load right away other times it still does the blank black screen issue. And it's not my consoles nor my games all 120 of them are in excellent condition.
And it did work for the past few hour after switching the WI-FI modem on and off. But, it still is doing it. I'll try with the other console but, if it continues this is an XLIVE problem and the XBOX OS is messing up.

 

Worked for me too! Had a black screen after log in. Power loss here on East Coast from storm. Followed the recommendation and now I'm back in the fray! Thanks Bentoy

 

An easier quick fix method is to first:

1. Sign out of you're profile

2. Load the game

3. After the game loads sign back in

Wow.....I was about to give up...but decided to give BentoyTheGreat's tips a try, and why not? And it worked!!! For my wireless connection! Thank you sir!

I disconnected from the network, hard-unplugged the power while the unit was on, waited 10 seconds, plugged back in, unit woke up asking to connect to a wireless connection, so I did, it did it's usual test, and VOILA!!! woooot.

Now to watch Noah.

 

cool it works for now but its mess up that when u test ur network conection it gives u a message saying to go to www.xbox.com/servicealert and the page was dated 7/31/14 and it was things were

fixed....dont get it
