    Having 50hz enabled in display settings is causing frame skipping


    Due to living in the UK and using the xbox pass through with my Sky bo I have to have 50hz enabled to make watching TV bearable, but the problem I'm having is it turns quantum break in to a nausea inducing mess, the cut scenes jerk along the live action
    video is out of sync and the dropped frames are noticeable in game, this I presume is due to the game being locked at 30fps and my display at 50hz, I only realised this after two days of playing and conversing with my friends who were playing but not suffering
    from the same problems.

    I can also assume I'm not the only one in this situation and hope posting this helps those people get a more enjoyable gaming experience. Now it's possible for me to turn 50hz on and off as I switch between gaming and watching TV but this is inconvenient
    and should not have to be done, we need an option to automatically disable for certain games and apps to overcome these problems or have the apps do it automatically.

    TV problem after the new Update

    I have exactly the same problem since the update. 50hz is enabled in TV settings and display settings, but doesn't seem to work. Very annoying when watching footy.

    50 Hz support

    I have enabled 50Hz and now I get no signal to my TV at all. There is also not display output when I enter the menu to uncheck the box... How do I rested my TV settings so I can get 60 HZ back?

    TV connection to Xbox one not smooth

    The problem is that the native frame rate of the Xbox One is 60Hz, but the United Kingdom and Europe use a 50hz broadcasting system, which is the result of the historical use of PAL and SECAM analogue broadcasting systems. To display a 50Hz video signal
    on a 60Hz system, a process called frame rate conversion (FRC) needs to take place, which at the best of times will incur some judder. Depending on the implementation and also the original resolution (720p or 1080i), viewers may notice dropped/skipped frames
    or stutter especially during panning shots in fast-action sports material such as live football broadcast.

    Thanks for the information EmbodiedAlarm33,

    What you'll want to do is in the Advanced video settings, uncheck Allow 50Hz. Sometimes what happens is if a UHD Blu-ray doesn't support 50Hz it will try to insert frames into the video to compensate and this causes the stuttering effect.

    To clarify for anyone else reading this post it's in Settings > Display & sound > Video output > Advanced video settings.

    Please try to uncheck Allow 50Hz and let us know if that helps. If not, also try the 24Hz option to see if that has an effect.

    1080i Cable TV on XBox One?

    I think the problem might be the frame rate not being downgraded to 720p, if your 1080i is 50hz the Xbox is trying to show it as 60hz.

    If you do to settings > tv & oneguide > troubleshooting > video > then tick the box "enable 50hz" and see if that helps.

    This worked for me as my box is 50hz. Hope it helps you.
