Haven't recived 10 dollars

I have enterd a 3 month gold card for 10 dollars on Xbox but I have yet to receive it and it has almost been a month

You entered a card for membership and you don't have Xbox live Gold yet? It should be instantaneous.

 

OK I know 3month cards aren't 10bucks so I'm guessing you entered a 3month code instead of buying a promotion to get the 10 dollar currency code back?

That would be your issue

In order to get the 10 dollar code you must buy the membership with a billing option

A prepaid code is a previous purchase which had its own terms set at the point of sale

So no you didn't buy the membershipa as required to get the 10 dollars

 

There is no separate screen for purchasing memberships or promotions but you still had to comply with the terms and conditions

You need to buy the promotion not redeem a previous purchase

 

but when i went on the promotion they gave me two options to enter a credit card or use a code and i selected use a code on the promotion

 

The promotions will take you to the default purchase page, but you do have to purchase the gold directly through the promotion in order to qualify. Redeeming a code does not count as a purchase.
