Haven't played Metal Gear since Playstation one. Might have to get it for xbox one.

I think the problem with buying games that have previously been exclusive to another console is that you can't really keep up with the story. Due to my age and the fact I've never played an MGS game, I won't be picking it up purely because I don't really
know the story.

The game is set for 30 $$ U.S money! not bad at all IMO...not a big MGS fan never beat any of them...played a little bit of MGS 2 but wasn't my cup of tea at the time i was a kid and was not into those type of games...Now i love those type of games lol

 

So, I just spent the past 30 minutes typing up a really great post about all of the great & not-so great moments that the MGS series has provided for me over the years as well as how this effects how I feel about the up-coming game's release & how I'm not
so sure I'm ready for it. Then WHAM! Firefox crashes & I lose everything! I hate it when that happens. Almost makes me want to cry.

When I'm typing a long post I will hit 'copy' at a certain point. I can't stand writing a long quality post and having it erased like that.

 

I've ordered Ground Zeros because it was £23 on Shopto. As for the series... I'm not sure. I tried MGS 4 and I spent more time watching cutscenes than playing. Didn't like having to buy weapons in game either, at least not the way it was set up. I'm willing
to give GZ a chance and I hope it puts the series in a better light for me, but I am not overly optimistic.

 

I'm not paying $30 for even only 3 hours of gameplay. I don't care how awesome the game 'appears' to be.

Might rent it though.

 

I'll be too busy playing Titanfall, anyway.

 

The story is much easier to follow than in most games I've played. The character development is very good. I can understand being apprehensive to get it if you haven't played any of the prior ones, though. MGS2 & 3 are pretty inexpensive in the marketplace,
now. If you have some time on your hands and you don't mind playing older games, I'd recommend them.

 

Metal Gear Solid 3 and especially Peacewalker are the only games you need to get if you want to be caught up on the story in Ground Zeroes. The other games haven't happened yet.

 

Do not buy it if you haven't played one since the PS1. It's a story driven franchise with an insane story. You'd be lost. Look into the HD collection on the 360 at least before you nab Ground Zeroes, just so you can get to know Big Boss throughout MGS3 and
Peace Walker.

 

People who also pick this game up early will get stuff for phantom pain. the single player is 2 hours but that aint including the side missions. i havent played MGS since the ps2 days. i might get this not sure though and i thought i saw phantom pain was
out this year
