And in my situation, I can always trade my One in towards Scorpio. Then we have the S and Scorpio.

There's no point in getting the Xbox 1 S now, when a much more and far more powerful Xbox Scorpio comes out next year with 320GB/s bandwidth, possibly 12GB GDDR5 RAM, and a faster clocked AMD APU, and 5 teraflops computing power. When Xbox Scorpio does come
out, it will be the most powerful video gaming console which will even rival the competition.

Unless you live in a cramped apartment or house and you don't want a bulky original Xbox 1 console. The Xbox 1 S still has the same limited 68GB/s 8GB DDR3 bandwidth as the original, of which only a mere 5GB DDR3, is available for gaming, the same 1.75Ghz
clocked AMD APU. No point in spending another few hundred dollars on like a smaller replica of the original Xbox 1, which doesn't have a Kinect port. Sure Microsoft has an accessory where you can connect your Kinect to your console, but you do realise you're
just throwing your money at them, right?

I've told my friends considering getting an Xbox 1 console very soon to wait until Xbox Scorpio comes out.

XB1S is not a huge jump from standard XB1 but and I've said it before it's what the XB1 should have been at launch.

Got a 4K TV then the HDR games look jaw dropping ( again not a huge jump )

Even if your not a gamer and are just after a 4K/HDR player, you'd be hard pushed to find one at this quality for the price you can pick them up

Now if Scorpio was out this month then I would have waited. Being over a year away personally if for some strange reason I couldn't have my slim no more I'd find it tough to go back to the original XB1 after my experience with the slim but that's just me.

 

I agree with Old Lofty, it really depends on what you want and our situation. Plus, if you do trade ins for it, in another year the One S will most likely be worth more for trade in than the original Xbox One.

It's also a case by case basis. Like I previously said, my household has to original Xbox Ones. So why not trade one in towards and S and then still have an original. Then when Scorpio comes out, we can address what we want to do to get it.

 

Fair enough. Final Fantasy XV comes out late November this year. Square Enix has spent 10 years on this game! However I want to play this game beautifully, and when the first Final Fantasy XV Demo came out on Xbox 1, it really needed anti-aliasing and there
was inconsistent frame rates (sometimes the frame rate had sharp drops instances). Since PS4 Pro comes out early next month, I am tempted to buy it since Sony will sell it for only NZ$639 in NZ. When Xbox 1 Launched, Mr M sold it for RRP NZ$749. And when Xbox
Scorpio comes out, I could just sell PS4 Pro (or maybe keep it). I'm not into 4k or HDR thingy, but I just want this game to appear more detailed, as I feel the DDR3 bandwidth of 68GB/s is going to struggle. Xbox Scorpio won't be out until sometime next year
and I feel I just can't wait for it. ebgames.co.nz has a pre-order price for Scorpio of NZ$999 placeholder. Microsoft is selling Xbox S in NZ for RRP$599. I'm really into Final Fantasy XV. My first Xbox 360 game was Final Fantasy XIII.

 

Word has it there will be a Final Fantasy themed PS4 Pro...My other half wants to trade his PS4 for the Pro and then we are going to trade a Xbone for OneS.

Best of both world I guess!
