Have two accounts and want to delete old one

So, it sounds like your original account became disassociated with your email address... probably closed due to inactivity.

You'll want to contact phone support and let them know you are trying to close the original account down. They will require you pass some verification and the process is a lengthy one, but they should be able to get koops128 deleted out of the system.

Inactive accounts rarely get deleted, and it usually takes a long time before they are recycled back into use.

so two years ago i deleted my ms account now two years late got a xbox one and created a new account but now i want my old gamertag back so thinking my old account had been deleted i tried to change my gamertag to my old gamertag but got a message that
"that gamertag has already been taken" then i searched about that gamertag and found out that my old account hadnt been deleted yet and then when i tried to log in to my old account it said " there is no account by that email address". so i guess that old
ms account got deleted but not the xbl account as i can still see my old gamertag,acchivement,account description and all.so is there any way to recover that old xbl account or the gamertag now by deleting that old xbl account so that gamertag be available
to put in my new account?

so i have two xbox accounts. one, an old account under a non-Microsoft email address. and two, an newer one with a Microsoft email address.

So as i understand it, you can't merge accounts so instead i want to bring the gamer tag i have for my old account and make it the gamer tag of my newer account.

is this possible? im happy to delete my old account but i want make sure for certain my newer gets the gamer tag and not someone else.

no this does not work the only thing you can try to do is to change your old name and try to claim it with your new account

If you used the same email as your old account , you would have to delete one of the accounts for you to be able to log into one certain account because if there is two accounts on one email , then it picks the newest account and signs into it .
