Have trouble using my gamertag on xbox 360

I logged on xbox.com and I got one month live subscription. I already have a gamertag and Microsoft account.

When I go to xbox 360 box, I can sign in with my gamertag sanmukh. However, when I try to join live, it asks to enter my name and e-mail etc. However, when I provide all this, it says it is already in use and use other e-mail. Why is that?

Looks like I cannot join live.

NO. When you start playing an Xbox 360, bring up the Xbox 360 guide to sign in. If you don't see your profile click the Download Profile option. It will have you enter your email and password. Then you will be able to select your Gamertag to sign in. I didn't know it was that difficult?

 

A little bit more info.

When I try to join live, it says:

Setup a Microsoft account for xbox live

Get your unique gamertag

Choose your membership level

After that, I enter my Microsoft account info but then I get:

This Microsoft account is associated with a different xbox live profile. Try different account.

I am confused. What xbox live profile am I associated with? There is another user in this box but he uses different email account and gamertag,

Since you already have a log-in associated with your account, you already have Live account so you don't need to Join Live. That's if you were turning an offline account into a Live accounts. That's why it says there is already an account associated with
your email.

You just need to download your account to the console - Add or Remove Xbox Profile on an Xbox 360 Console
