  1. Have to unplug my xbox EVERY time now.

Just bought an xbox one 13 days ago and have been having issues since purchase. When I turn on the console, without a full reboot, the controller (or any controller) will not sync to the system. I have tried to re-sync but to no avail. The only way to
sync the controllers is to unplug the system for 30 seconds and then turn it on. Once the game is turned off by the controller or by the console on-off button, the only way the controllers will work is to unplug the system and go back over the syncing process
again. This is frustrating as it is less then 14 days old and I NEVER had these issues with PS3. I am assuming its the console that is defective.

    :)

    Dashboard freeze

This happens to me too every time I use my console, I have to hard reset/unplug power supply etc every time. Getting very annoying now......

  3. Networking/ hardware question

Thanks. As for the background downloading the data used by my Xbox is now a fourth of what it was now that I unplug it every time after use. Maybe I have a weird Xbox.

Can you return the console to the retailer for an exchange? Since it is new and hasn't been 30 days many retailers will take defective equipment in as defective. You are correct you should not have to do that every time to get the controllers to sync.

  5. might wanna return it the retailer as that shouldn't happen to a new console upon returning it inform them of what's happening they should replace it with another one.

  6. Thanks for the responses. I got this from The Source in Canada online and bought as a bundle. The issue is if I bring it back with the bundle game on it (it was a downloaded full version not a hard disc), how do I get the game back? When i bring it back,
they wont give me a console because the game that came with it wont be on the replacement console. I guess I should just bring it back for a refund. I have another game on the system that I downloaded, minecraft and it cost 25$ to download. Does anyone
know if I have to pay for that game again or will it be on my xbox live account for download again?

Have to unplug my xbox EVERY time now.

Did you bring it back for refund? Seems like a huge hassle for what is probably a software/firmware issue. But I guess it could remain unfixed, who knows. I'm trying to figure out if it the controller firmware now, we'll see...

I bought directly from Microsoft (online, Black Friday 2015) and have the same issue: After console sleeps, controller will not connect/sync wirelessly at all, so it won't turn on Xbox, or sync via dedicated sync buttons, or anything. Happens every time
with "instant on" enabled. Never happens with "power savings" (full shutdown) enabled.

Update: My issues seem to have been fixed with latest Xbox update (2015-12), amazingly enough. My console now turns on when I press the Xbox button on my controller, and those sync issues are gone , and I can use "instant on" power mode.

I also turned of my network router's 5G Wi-Fi (Xbox controllers operate with 5G Wi-Fi Direct tech, it was within a few feet of my Xbox, range was terrible, unnecessary, etc), which may have nothing to do with it.
