    Have to power cycle my XB1 almost every day. Black screen of death.


    I got a Day One edition of the console. Months ago it started to not show anything on my TV screen when I first turn the console on every day. It's not EVERY day, but about 5 days a week I turn it on and I hear the sound, but the screen is black. I power
    cycle it and when it comes back on, the video is there. It's a pain to do this all the time. Anyone have any solutions?

    Black Screen after Green logo screen

    This just started today. When I turned on my One, it showed me an error screen after the screen screen. I unplugged, power cycled, etc. and i cannot get past the black screen after the green logo screen. I cannot get the console to do anything! Is this just
    the black screen of death many people are talking about? any help is appreciated, except do not tell me to "power cycle" because it doesn't work.

    Factory Reset Every 3-4 Days

    I try to power cycle it as my first step every time this happens, still boots to green screen and then goes black.

    Hi Labrador, good to see you! Since a hard reboot is usually the solution, not the problem, I think the next step in line is to do a Factory Reset. Have you done this yet? Your game saves will all be safe and backed up, but it will restore all settings and
    wipe the hard drive, at which point you can reinstall games and see if the problem is resolved.

    Let me ask, before you do the Factory Reset, have you also unplugged the power brick when doing a hard boot? i.e. hold the power button for 10 seconds, wait for the power brick to go orange, and then unplug for about 5 minutes.

    Once you've done that, if the problem recurs the next day, I would definitely do the Factory Reset. This can be found by pressing Menu and going to Settings -> System and pressing Restore Factory Defaults.
