Have to charge the battery every 1 hour

My xbox one is almost 2 months old, so is the battery charge pack I got with it.

I need to charge the battery every hour or so, it is driving me mad. I can play for an hour, sometimes more if I'm lucky, then I receive a message saying the batteries are low. The indicator on the xbox dashboard show an empty battery. So I connect the USB
charge cable to the xbox, the orange led comes on, after about 10 minutes it turns white, and the indicator on the dashboard shows the battery is full...

So this goes on and on, I can play for an hour or so, battery empty again etc.

I already tried the support page but of course you will get nowhere using those sites. Either constant error messages or you are stuck in a loop back to the main page. Please help, or do I need to buy a need controller and battery pack? I already did the
upgrade controller, but that didn't solve anything.

    :)

A question about the Quick Charge Kit

I'm wondering, does the newer black quick charge kit come with the same 35 hour battery found in the new play and charge kit?

I want to buy a quick charge kit but I'd like to know that I will have two 35-40 hour batteries and not one 25 hour battery and one 35-40 hour battery.

    Thanks.

    New accessory for Xbox gamepad

Qi Wireless Battery for XBox One / One S / One X Gamepad

X-Wirelesspack is a Qi compatible wireless battery for Xbox One gamepad and a Qi wireless charger. Simply plug the charger into the USB port of the XBox, then insert the battery into the Xbox gamepad (instead of the AA battery).

To recharge the battery, simply place the gamepad on the charger. The charger is Qi compatible, so it can also charge a compatible phone while you are playing.

The battery charge time is one hour, the battery life is 8 hours in game mode and up to one month in standby mode.

    • Battery:
      • Charging time: 1 hours.
      • Autonomy: 8 hours in gaming mode.
      • Autonomy: 1 month in standby mode.
      • Input: 5V/800mA.
      • Output: 3/2-100mA.
      • Receiving power: 5W.
      • Receiving Distance: 10mm.

    • Charger:
      • Input: 5V/2A.
      • Output: 5V/1A.
      • Transmission Power: 5W.
      • Power distance: 10mm.

  4. Have to charge the battery every 1 hour

    Hi JelmerF,

If I understand you. You're using the Xbox brand, play and charge kit and the charge is lasting just one hour..

-May I suggest the next time that you charge it, that you

1.lay the controller on a flat surface.

    2. plug the USB cable into the XBox One

    3. plug the smaller end of the play and charge cable into the controller while the controller is laying on a flat surface.

    4. make sure that the orange light stays on while plugged in.

    5. Let this charge for at least 4 - 6 hours without moving the controller and while the Xbox One is in standby mode (not off)

**Its best to do this while you're asleep or at school/work, etc.

FYI: after use the cable will go in and out if its moved even slightly.

    Hi Smurf,

Thanks for your reply, but the questions you ask is basically what I described in my original post. The orange led of the charge cable goes off after about 10 minutes or so, the battery indicator on the dashboard shows full, and after 1 hour I have to recharge
it again. It is connected to my xbox, but also tried to use a usb port on my pc, but same behavior.

It doesn't behave like this all the time though. After going through this "loop" about 5 or 6 times it does seem to charge longer (orange light stays on for up to 1 hour) and then I can play for hours. Faulty cable? Faulty cable, original xbox battery charge
pack, or could it be the controller itself?

  6. The cables are of low quality....I've found that sitting my controller down and stabilizing the cable because just pluging it in doesn't work.

Look at my video. I talk about it here.

I think it a flaw designed. And I for two size controller's. Current size it good for me despite I big hands. I got small fingers. So controller still work for me. But again I can see have controller for bigger hands then me. But that my thinking. And notrepasented

  8. Have to charge the battery every 1 hour

Im actually having the same problem, just came on here to find a solution.

One thing I have noticed with this problem is that if you remove the battery then replace it, the system will show that the battery is full again. Sadly I have to do this numerous times till the battery is truly drained.

This is not a problem with the battery as the charge is lasting as it should. It has something to do with the controller not reporting correctly or the console not reading correctly. Either way its getting old!
