    Have there been any new updates on an option to disable the Xbox from turning on every time...


    I love my new Xbox Wireless Headset except for one glaring issue. It always turns on my XSX whenever I turn on the headphones.

    This wouldn't be an issue if I only used the headset for gaming, but I (and I imagine many other people) were hoping to use this for multiple purposes. For example, I work from home and was hoping to use this as my bluetooth headset for Zoom/Teams meetings. But every time I turn it on to pair with my laptop, it turns my Xbox (and therefore my TV) on in the other room. Apparently, this is by design, and there's no way to disable this "feature."

    Everything I've seen in MS forums/reddit/etc through my googling boils down to "just unplug the xbox, problem solved!"

    Has there been any progress on this?

    It's baffling to me that this was designed this way, let alone the ONLY option. You can't even do anything with the Xbox until you turn on your controller anyway, so why even have this with the headset in the first place? Just let it auto-connect when the Xbox is already on, or something.

    It's frustrating that the headset was designed so well, except for this one terrible design choice.

    Hoping there is progress on a firmware update that has the option to disable the auto-on. If not, I'm likely going to return the headset and find another solution.

    THEY'VE BLOODY DONE IT AGAIN.

    Every time you buy gold time you have to turn off the auto re-new option again.

    The options are on or off not yes or no,so you may have been mistaken when turning it off.

    If you click on your account from this screen ,then to edit profile you can check if the auto re-new is still active or not.

    You only option to get a refund is to ring microsoft on the freephone number for your area.

    @Vernier, That would disable all notifications aside from achievements unlocking. Thats not what I want to do, I want to just disable the two new features.

    @Cloaked, there is no option to turn off just the new features. You can only turn off all notifications.

    If there is no way to turn off JUST the new features then I hope microsoft releases a patch to add that feature. It should have been something that was added before it was publicly released. I'm sure people were posting about the same issues on the preview
    forums.

    There is no option to disable sound via any output. It's always on, all the time.



    Turn down or off the speakers on your TV.

    I've experienced the same thing but in standard campaign mode. Ever since the update, I haven't been able to replay any of the saved data. Every time it becomes corrupt and only after I 've turned off the the xbox. Any ideas as to what the problem is? Also
    tried a new hard drive. Same result.
