have older Xbox 360 slim. Need advice on storage

I have a refurbished Xbox 360 with what looks like the 4GB internal flash memory. One thing I am noticing is that 360 games that used to play in my now dead 360 console do not play. I get an incorrect region code error:

medal of honor airborne

civil war a nation divided

civil secret missions

Call of Duty 2

I also received two new games when I got the console, both state incorrect region code

Battlefield 3

Battlefield 4

both are labeled for NTSC format

Now I also have several older Xbox games that indicate I need a hard drive in order to play. It looks like I have to install a new internal Xbox hard drive, but do I just buy a standard Xbox 360 hard drive and install it? Or do I need one for the original
Xbox? I know it seems redundant and I understand I am using an older console. Just debating on buying a newer console or making this one work correctly.

For the region issue, you may have to try checking to see if the console is PAL or NTSC.

For backwards compatible games to work, you need an official Microsoft Xbox 360 hard drive, which may be kind of difficult to find now. There are a lot of knock-offs out there that will not work.

Is the PAL or NTSC determination marked on the console itself? I did look at the back of one of the games and it is marked PAL so obviously purchased by mistake. The rest are NTSC so not clear why they wont play.

It is an Xbox 360 model 1439. It shows made in Richmond, VA but also has Chinese lettering and the year 2011 on the back

FWIW, I did find official Xbox 360 500gb hard drives on Amazon for 75.00. Ordering one this week..

Please take a look at this guide. It tells you a bit about the different models of hdd's. As you say, you have to determine whether you have a slim or older model of xbox. Look a bit down on the page, and you can see the difference. (If your xbox is black,
you have a slim. If it's white, you most likely have an older model.) Hope the above info helps you out

To make that hard drive work on Xbox 360 you need to have a software to make it work.

For example if 4gb xbox 360 slim, you need a small storage to make the xbox 360 slim to work.

So that means hard drive needs a small or a big software to make to work.
