Have I damaged my Xbox One console?

My Xbox One was console was fine, however, I started moving it around rather roughly and now all the games are very laggy and the console is running quite slow as well. Do you think. I have permanently damaged the console or can it be rectified by itself? Will I have to take my console somewhere to see if it can be fixed?

    :)

Thanks for the very quick reply Gerardo. I’ll try everything you mentioned and if that doesn’t work then perhaps I need to take the console somewhere to get fixed.

Have I damaged my Xbox One console?

Hi there Paul, my name is Gerardo, and I'm an Xbox player, just like you. I'll be happy to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

Just like any system that uses an HDD as a storage unit, it is not advisable to move the console abruptly when it is powered on. This can potentially damage the internal hard drive and could lead to issues, such as the one you are experiencing.

To rule out a software issue and as a precaution, please try the following procedures:

    1. With the Xbox turned on, press the power button on the front of the console for 10 seconds until it completely shuts down.

    2. Disconnect the power cable from the console and wait for 30 seconds.

    3. Reconnect the power cable to your console and turn it on as usual.

    4. Check if the problem persists. If it does, please reset your console to its factory settings while keeping your games and apps. Here's how to do it:

Go to Settings > System > Console info > Reset console > Reset and keep games & apps.

Your console will be reconfigured, and you'll need to re-add your account, so make sure you have the email and password for your account before proceeding. No games or apps will be deleted, and you won't lose progress in any games since they are saved in the Xbox Cloud.

    5. Once again, check if the problem continues.

If the problem persists, it will be necessary to have your console checked by a trusted technician in your area to identify and repair any potential hardware issues. It might be related to the internal hard drive, but this is just a speculation, only the person inspecting the console can confirm this for you.

Please note that Xbox One consoles, particularly, no longer have out-of-warranty repair services officially offered by Xbox, as you can verify on the following link under the "Out-of-warranty service costs" dropdown:

    https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/warranty-service/getting-your-product-serviced

I appreciate your understanding, and if you have further questions, please let me know.

    Kind regards,
    Gerardo.

Xbox One X offline update fails

My xbox is of course just out of its warranty. My question is which piece of hardware is faulty. This is my second xbox one x (first one fell off the shelf and damaged the HDMI and even though that one was still under warranty yall decided to send it back
to me unfixed). So my question is what do I need to cannibalize off my damaged xbox to get my other damaged xbox working again. I'm at close to $1000 I've spent on these consoles and I'm not very happy that the people at xbox won't fix at least one of them
    for me.
