Have family buy digital..

Thank you so much for the heads up on this, if this does work, it's good for Xbox and digital, and it makes the price of digital worth it.

Two xboxOnes in one household?

I have one more question in regards to digital copies.

My two brothers live together

both have XboxOne's

If they put each others profiles on each others xbox's....does that mean they only need to buy one Digital copy? Because they are in essence a Family sharing content...each also have Gold subscriptions.

 

We need FACTS in here!

They have confirmed in interviews that the 9 family members of your choosing (d on't have to be real family or even in the same house) can be on your list to share your ENTIRE digital library. When you buy a disk it becomes part of your digital library
btw. The 24 hour thing who cares i'm on xbox live all the time. They have also stated that the kinect can be turned off in options

 

Maybe not Link, the update on that last link I provided says different, These changes will impact some of the scenarios we previously announced
for Xbox One. The sharing of games will work as it does today, you will simply share the disc. Downloaded titles cannot be shared or resold.

I downloaded PvZ on my son's console when it released went down to my room and notice it downloading on my console as well. We party up and play multiplayer all the time. I was only charged for one copy.

 

thanks for the info, according to like support at the moment we won't be able to play it as the same time, I guess I will have to wait and see.

 

I know a guy that knows a guy who's been doing this for years...yes it works on 360 too, anything digital, so if you set your home console on your brothers Xone and he did the same on yours you can use anything they bought digital, including season passes.
And yes they can be used simultaneously. I've just never it on here because I'm pretty sure it's not allowed?

 

it's not supposed to work that way now unfortunately. initially yes but the backlash changed a lot. so as it stands now, you can not buy one copy of a game and use it simultaneously. your digital library can be accessed from anywhere on any console as
long as you're signed in. on a "home" console, no one is required to sign in to access the content on it.

 

you make his console your home console,, and your console his home... and any game bought on either console will be available on the other... for free... at the same time... this has been a feature Xb1 had since day one... is not a loophole and is intended
to be used like this with "family" members

 

yes but this could also be used against ms..what if friend a) traded console with friend b) but both had downloaded their profiles on the consoles before they traded and set them to home? Now when friend a) buys a digital game its automatically loaded onto
friend b)'s console and he can play all games that friend b) buys and downloads digital. Its kind of flawed.

 

This is how its supposed to be even dlc and beta work.i downloaded titanfall beta and call of duty ghosts map pack and forza 5 dlc all shared with my son.download on home console in sons room so anyone can play then sign in on x1 in livingroom.also if you
buy a digital game on any x1 it also downloads to the home gold console.we always play together online at the same time. saves us money as a family and works great.

 

We just had a dozen page thread on this very subject and a number of people (including myself ) tried to get clarification on playing the same game simultaneously from Microsoft and the publishers/developers.

End result....Microsoft didn't respond to any request for clarification either via email or in the support forums. Every publisher and developer that was contacted basically said a single purchase could not be played simultaneously. It's in violation of
their EULA.

If this was an intended feature it would be heavily advertised and it isn't. It's a loophole in the way they have set up the "home console" and gamertag licensing that are allowing people to do it.

What happens if they do a license check and you get caught? Who knows. Worth risking your digital library? I won't be doing it. Use at your own risk.

 

yes it does work,, ive posted this before.... on the home console anyone can play the digital copy without you being signed in...on the second console you can play and so can anyone else as long as you are signed into xboxlive.. just redownload you second
copy of the digital download to the non home xbox and enjoy!
