Sorry for the inconvenience but we are currently looking into this situation. Unfortunately it appears that Microsoft has introduced an incompatibility between controllers and consoles that is impacting the 3.5mm headset jack. It is unknown how
long it will take before they release an update to fix that issue.

There are some "fixes" that you can attempt to see if you get better results:

1.) Power cycle the console



2.) Go to settings>
Kinect and Devices> Devices and Accessories> [...]>
Assign controller to account>
Update control> unassign account>test headset/chat



3.) Make sure mic is "ON" Press the home button> go to the Gear on the menu> Audio> Turn Mic off and on.



Or go to settings>
Kinect and Devices> Devices and Accessories> [...]>
Audio> Mic on>
Adjust volume.

[If you are using an adapter the option may not be available]

The Microsoft stereo headset adapter is one possible workaround. Another workaround to the issue is the Microsoft Chatpad. While this may be a bit more expensive than the headset adapter, it has some added benefits:

• keyboard for easier typing in messages etc, can also be used as mappable controls for games like War Thunder
  
• Built-in volume, game/party chat mixer adjustment
  

A regular pair of headphones would also work sometimes. I know it's annoying to have to spend more money to fix an issue that is beyond your control however this will likely be the fastest way that you can resolve the issue at this time.

I dont think this is an issue of the drives being old, i am having the same issue, my drives were showing up a few days ago and now they are not. I have 2 different drives with games on them and neither of them will show up. I plugged in an unformatted drive
and it is showing up.

No, this issue started happening way before the error on live status showed up. I want to say this started happening a week or two- maybe a month ago.

i have been having latency issues with my xbox seemingly out of nowhere. started around a week or 2 ago.
