    Have a service alert when trying to use xbox live.


    Unable to play free games on xbox live as a Gold member. Getting message that I don't have enough storage. I became a gold member in order to play games that I am unable to play with my xbox 360. Called for support and after trouble shooting, the only
    obvious thing is that there is a service alert which is being worked on and should be fixed within a few hours. I will follow up to see if this is the problem.

    This may have something to do with the current service alert. If you check here:
    support.xbox.com/.../xbox-live-status you will see the live status (which is having a service alert) and when it is fixed. This happens now and then, though it is rare. Try again
    when things are back to normal.

    Xbox LIVE was probably having limited service at the time. Try to be on when there are no service alerts, and if the problem persists please contact Support.
