Hauppauge TV Tuner for Xbox One not displaying properly - edges cutoff

I recently bought and installed the Hauppauge TV Tuner for Xbox One. It found channels and works great, except the screen gets cutoff around all the edges, for example if you are watching sports you can't see the top bar that has the scores. No other app
does this on my Xbox.

I've seen computer monitors do this before and I have just resized the screen to fit appropriately but I don't know if my TV is causing this because TV through OneGuide (via the TV Tuner) is the only app that is having this issue (not any of the games or
many apps I use like Netflix, or SlingTV).

Does anyone know if there is a way to resize the screen or if there is some other fix?

TV turner to all Xbox One owners

What a difference a week makes ! Seems the Xbox branded Tuner is available and even much cheaper than the Hauppauge model.

Xbox one and tv aspect ratio issue

I have a 46" Samsung and even when viewing tv I get cutoff around the edges in 16:9. I have screen fit on for both tv and xbox one.

Hey there JJ Sefton!

That sounds odd! If this is the only app experiencing this issue, I suggest starting off by resetting OneGuide settings. To do that, follow these steps:

Press the Menu button on the Xbox One controller and select 'Settings.

In the Settings menu, select 'TV & OneGuide'.

In this menu, select 'Troubleshooting'.

Proceed to 'Reset TV settings'.

After this has been reset, press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 10 seconds.

Power back on and set up TV once again.

Try the steps above and let us know how it goes!

Thank you Mister Beep for the suggestion! I tried it but it didn't work the first time, and as I was going to try it again (thinking maybe I didn't hold down the power button long enough for a hard reset and just did a regular reset) I stumbled across an
option when I hit the menu button, when I was in the TV app, for viewing options. For some reason it was on a zoomed view instead of a native view. Switching this option corrected the problem and now the tuner works perfectly.

Happy it works fine now, it's nice to be cutting the cord through an Xbox. Although I have no idea why when I plugged in the TV Tuner it had the default for viewing be this weird cropped zoomed in view instead of native. Oh well.

Check if the tv is not defective or try to change the cable... if it doesn´t work, test another TV to make sure the problem isn´t with the xbox itself.

Issue is with software. Have this issue on Xbox One X with Hauppauge tuner and two Xbox One S with their own Hauppauge tuners. All separate and complete setups. Not TV or cable related since they all stopped working the evening of May 5th.

Edit: currently it's the only video media app we have that's not working. Plex, VLC, Prime video all still work.

OK Sold!! My Homeworx 150 died, Gonna pick up the Hauppauge Digital TV Tuner. I'm just 20 miles south of Boston. I get about 40 channels with the built in tuner on my LED TV. I would love the guide of the Xbox One back again.
