    Hauppauge Digital TV Tuner for Xbox One


    Hey guys, I got the Hauppauge Digital TV Tuner for Xbox One, and I can't find channels when connecting it to the xbox. When I connect it to my computer, I am able to say my TV provider is cable/analog (Using a Comcast Analog-Digital Converter). It ended
    up finding analog channel 3, which displayed my actual cable because of the Comcast box. When using the tuner on the xbox, however, my only TV provider options are Antenna or Antenna/Translators. Neither of these work because they are meant for the over the
    air tv. Has anyone gotten their tuner to work with xbox one and cable? Xbox phone and online chat support weren't able to help. I tried all common troubleshooting methods and even tried setting it up through smartglass.

    Hauppauge Xbox One Digital Tuner is terrific!

    OK Sold!! My Homeworx 150 died, Gonna pick up the Hauppauge Digital TV Tuner. I'm just 20 miles south of Boston. I get about 40 channels with the built in tuner on my LED TV. I would love the guide of the Xbox One back again.

    No, just spoke with a tech guy at Hauppauge. He stated it was Microsoft not setting it up to receive the signal from standard cable vs over the air. He kinda hinted that it would be a simple change for Microsoft but also stated that if you connect it to
    a computer with the app you can do it that way.

    I forgot I had this thread open.. Yes I talked to someone at Hauppauge and they told me the same thing. He said some day Microsoft could change it, but currently it I not supported on the Xbox. I have mine hooked up to my computer and my computer hooked
    up to the Xbox for a janky way to do it until then.

    Xbox One X - PVR (UK Freeview)?

    I can't answer the UK Freeview bit, here is what I know about the Hauppauge Digital TV Tuner for Xbox:

    • It can be used to view compatible OTA TV stations,
    • The OneGuide app can be used to view the Digital TV Tuner stations,
    • IIRC there is a pause live TV function however it may be restricted to a maximum of 30 minutes,
    • Microsoft was working on an update to enable longer PVR functionality but that was put on hold some months ago, I don't know if they plan to restart that.

    That last point disappointed me when it was announced as I specifically bought the Hauppauge Digital TV Tuner for Xbox when I read that they were working on the PVR feature.

    The pause live TV function is nice though if you just need a short bathroom break.
