Hate this XBOX ONE!!!!

Got this thing as bday gift last March,have played on it maybe 20 hours,have spent at least double that waiting for it to update,wont recognize password and forces you to update even though you elect to play offline,and when you do elect to play offline
it wont start games??Honestly if I bought this I would have brought it back long time ago,dont know how many times ive turned it on and have it say I have to update some huge **** file,I just turn it off......so been a few months so decided to try today,no
friggin luck......sitting here waiting for a 400MB something file to update.Tried to play offline,nope machine wont play game.This thing truly does suck,not right you are held hostage on a piece of electronics you purchase and I dont see myself ever buying
another XBOX system if this is how its going to be.OH and when I did receive as gift couldnt play it till it updated and that took half the afternoon so person left before seeing gift work,unfriggin believable.These should have been recalled and run over with
a steamroller.Been about 20 minutes into update at 69 percent.......thanks for the lousy gift microsoft!!

I think i can find the kinect effective with the snap skype while playing with friends, people are just too simple minded to see that because sony said they will take out some things and lower price its no different

 

I would recommend, putting your xbox one in instant on mode, with automatic update downloads, so much easier and quicker.

If all else fails........ get a Sega Megadrive, No updates....!!!!!

I would highly recommend putting your console on Instant Mode that's under settings, that way your console does updates automatically in the background. 21st century technology is so lousy that it needs frequent updates, lol. But they do get really annoying!
It's not necessarily his internet Jersey, it is in part due to Microsoft's servers, and the Internet Infrastructure, also depends if a lot of people use the servers too, especially weekends etc. I live in the biggest city in NZ, have Vodafone NZ 100mb/s download
and 10mb/s upload speed, and sometimes XBL servers on console download at 2mb/s where as when I run a speed test on my laptop, it says 76mb/s download speed.

 

your bent out of shape at your xbox and its your internet that's causing the speed it downloads. Yes, if you turn it on and it says it needs a update. If you just turn it back off, the next time you turn it on it will still need that update. Let it update
like the rest of us need to do and stop crying because things don't work exactly when and how you want them to.

 

moaning about a 400MB update, takes just a few seconds at best, to play offline set the console to offline mode and you can play. Recommendation = new internet provider.

 

My recommendation would be to not build a gaming machine that uses a 5400rpm hard drive.

 

I expect Microsoft is going to be using a 5400rpm or 7200rpm HDD for Xbox Scorpio. An SSD is A LOT faster! An SSD takes only 10 seconds to boot a computer. An HDD? A whopping 2 minutes. An SSD also halves (or better) the loading and saving times of an HDD
too.

 

not much of a speed difference with 5400 and 7200, besides my Xbox uses 5400 like everyone else and i have no speed issues with games or downloads, and if like me you use a usb3.0 7200 drive externally then the 5400 does not come into play when downloading
updates and games if the external is set as the "install here drive" so it is a mute point.

 

But there IS a noticeable speed difference in booting, saving, and loading times, between an HDD and an SSD. Xbox introduces Xbox Scorpio with an internal HDD, lol.

 

The difference between 5400rpm and 7200rpm in loading times is there and the price difference between the two is negligible. There is no reason in today's gaming world to use a 5400rpm hard drive.

The benefit is there for loading times, for putting into RAM or running directly from the drive. The benefit is there for downloads.

That you can connect a quicker external drive to the Xbox One in no way renders moot the point that the console should not have had a 5400rpm hard drive internally.
