When you say the game is loading but not playing, do you mean that the game is stuck on the start screen?

Same thing has happened to me on fortnite. It gets stuck at the starting screen when you open the game

Sorry to hear you are having update issues. So what exactly happens at the moment when you boot up the console? Does it go straight into trying to install the update? And when you tried installing from the offline update file does it get stuck at the same
point? And did you attempt to update via the safe boot screen?

When you say "randomly turns on" do you mean it actually goes to the home screen, or do you mean you can hear the hard drive inside whiring?

If its the latter, it does that if your system is in "low power mode" this allows it to download updates for games/OS when its switch off.
