Has XBox 360 failed more since release of Xbox one?`

Call me cynical but my family and I can't watch a movie anymore without the XBox 360 *** up in some way. We have 3 xbox's in the house and they have all become boat anchors since the release of Xbox One when trying to view visual media (primary use). I
think I'm going to sell these boxes and buy linux machines from now on,

Are the xbox live servers for the 360 going to get shut down?

It's highly unlikely. Look how long the original Xbox servers stayed on after the release of the 360. I think the 360 has a lot more life in it.

 

Set up a way for customers to buy cross over games with Microsoft gift cards

It's an ongoing thing.

It has been this way since the release of Xbox One.

You can only buy these games with gift cards from a Xbox 360 console, eventhough it's the same account balance that is used..

 

The XBOX ONE is actually selling worse than the XBOX 360 is selling 9 years into it's life cycle.

 

There doesn`t seem to be a day go by without some kind of service alert.

I would be very annoyed if i was buying gold.

 

I suppose it really depends on what you want to use it for!

To me it`s just a games console, the only app I use often is the YouTube app.

As far as watching films go, I always wait for them to come out on DVD.

Just not a great fan of these `all in one` multi-media thingies!

 

Microsoft have a tendency to just allow old consoles to die out, whilst third party will support and Microsoft will still work on the dash as so many users are on it

They will though concentrate on the One instead in the hope for fans to move from 360 to the One

 

It may or may not make a difference, but what "visual media" are you referring to?

 

I don't know if I would refer to a history that includes all of one console (OG Xbox) to say that would be a "tendency".

Let's see what they do with the 360.

 

I think so, they could have supported the dreamcast as it had the Windows Operating system built in it but with Xbox they skipped to Xbox 360 and whilst they haven't stated they are not supporting the 360 you can see that the shift is to get people moved
over to the ONE.

I'm not complaining as I think with the HDMI IN port on the ONE it allows me to experience and stream the best of both worlds as my 360 can be connected to the ONE and still give me the features the ONE offers with the best of my 360

 

It's because of the constant guide updates they have every year that makes the console run slower and slower each year. Back when the 360 came out, it was super fast, but as they released new dashboards, they ended up slowing the system down gradually, at
least for me.
