Has the quality of the forums dropped?

We're such a waste of space yet here you are on our forum, in our thread about trying to better our community, 10 pages later, still posting rubbish rather than just ignoring the idiots that attempt to get a rise out of you like any mature man/woman/transexual
would (I'm not one to judge, really).

Your first post on the first page really just sums up your general attitude on this forum, and that's why a fair amount of people here don't like you. Also your reply to Az is pretty much what sparked this silly argument. He never once mentioned you, or
anyone else, in any comment in this thread until you mentioned his name. You actually instigated the argument, over something that had previously happened between you two of you, when you disagreed with something he said and name dropped.

And, really, we don't care what your fetishes are. We have it on good faith Az probably has far worse. He's kind of odd like that. Troll each other via PM's about it, like good natured folk. Maybe if you ask Cloud nicely enough he will supply you both a
handbag for each hand and a box of tissues for after.

And for the record, Az isn't my "buddy". I've probably had more fights with him on this forum than you have. Man up, suck it up, and deal with it instead of sitting here playing the victim (lol the irony) because somebody hurt your feelings on the internet.

Grudges are for children. Put the past behind you and move on with your lives. This forum community will never improve if all you kids do is *** and moan over every possible little thing you can pick at to get a rise out of each other.

Yes, it sounds bad. And things are a bit more complicated because you bought it through a friend. But, can I point out that if it is only the DVD drive that has failed, you can still download and play digital games on the Xbox One. So, maybe it's just a
little better that a very expensive paper weight....

so I have an assassins creed addition one of the originals. It has maybe 100 hours on it total, and all of the sudden It won't read discs I had it laying flat for the last 4 months and haven't touched it really not to play games at least. Had a
day off work decided to play the new game I just bought and was surprised by a loud grinding noise as the disc was loading into the tray. I am very disappointed to have called Microsoft and have them tell me that because it's out Of warranty the cost is 150
to fix the faulty gear and replace it with the new stronger gear used in the newer consoles. Then they informed me that an unknown number of early ones had this issue and were recalled and fixed at no cost to customer. But because I was sold this from my buddy
when it was new in box still and he had it registered that he would have most likely gotten an email from them asking him to contact Microsoft. Point being that they are aware of the crap parts that they snuck in there being faulty but they are unwilling to
fix it without me basically paying for half of a new system and having all the dust and crap still inside ( separate charge to have them clean the system out.) I am truly disappointed with the service and overall quality of my very expensive paper weight .

 

I don't have this issue on my iPhone or iPad. Clear your browsing history, then try signing in, then signing out, then back in, making sure to check the stay signed in box.

I've tried this in the past. I only use an iPhone. However I will try this again.

I still think having it on the smartglass might get more people involved Just my opinion, cheers.

 

Ive got to agree with Unreal's last post. ICN3D you can never let anything go. You are still mad at Sword about something he said years ago, why?

Ill use Galactic Geek as an example. I dont like the guy. Ive told him such on numerous occassions. Ive blocked him on XBL 3 or 4 times. And when the next GG bash thread pops up Ill probably tell him how socially awkward I think he is. And even with me doing
all of that to GG, I dont troll him, I respect his opinion, and when I dont agree with him I dont let it carry over to every thread he posts in.

Ill admit AZ is an odd one. In fact the one time I was banned was because I told him his posts make me throw up in my mouth. Im not saying he reported me but that was the reason for the ban. I dont hold a grudge against him, and I dont really care as that
was a month ago. Time heals all wounds ICN3D and I think its time you either stop looking to call out the people you dont like, or just leave the forum. It'd be great if you stuck around and dropped your grudges and just ignore the people who are irritate
you.

GG, you did misunderstand. Any thread that ICN posts in, that I also post in, there is a 75% he will have a reply directed at what I say. Even tho 95% of the time what I type has nothing to do with him. And most of those threads end up gone and I'm surprised
this one is still here.

I have zero issues with anyone else here, even Az which now seems like many others do. Except ICN which always gets annoyed with what I type.

And ICN just a few pages ago calls me a victim, look at what he typed, that is something a victim would say. He even brings up the Sony fanboy thing where I haven't called him a Sony fanboy in I don't even know how long. But yet every thread he sees me in
I'm called a liar or worse. Not that I really care, but he has yet to ever really explain it. The only thing I see is him being upset that I enjoy playing Xbox & properly explain it, like I'm a commercial to him.

 

@KLR, I was typing my post while you posted yours. I agree it should be taken to PM, if I cared enough to pursuit it.

To stay on topic, I have been part of this particular community since 2005 when I found out that my XBL account was on here & I could see friends & send messages. The forums were certainly active back then.

I recall the biggest thread I ever had going which was, name your 3 favorite things about the 360. The thread had over a thousand replies, I tracked what everyone said & it was 1) Games 2) Controller 3) Friends/XBL. Most of the thread was legit, but there
of course was "trolls" in there that didn't like the 360 & just wanted to derail it, but the sane gamers kept it going strong. If I tried to post that thread today, the way the community is now, it would get a few replies and then fade away.

So yeah, it has gone downhill, but I still blame it on the redesigns first, second being how much hate the XB1 original policies got which made many flat out leave.

 

@Collapse. There is no chance you could have a "3 thing's you like about X1" thread, there are way to many anti Xbox people in here running wild. Positive threads don't stay positive for more than 2-3 page's, after that it goes to crap fast.

 

Xbox.com are dead, and it's a mix of severals elements :

Design of Xbox.com (when you don't know this site,find a local forum is so difficult )

Microsoft :They are not
interested in the forums and I'm sure that without ambassadors, forum wouldn't exist. Where are the community managers ? In France since 8-9 years i'am on forum, i've never
seen ONE COMMUNITY MANAGER.

The best thing you can do for the XBox Community is to make the Forums for the XBox Community and not cater to the petty whims and demands of people here but make it for XBox Gamers.

COD is one of the biggest sellers on the XBox but more than 75% of the people here will queue up to belittle the people who play it.

Once upon a time many of the people who came to these Forums did so to talk about the XBox games they enjoyed but over time that focus changed to idle self interest and bored people taking pot shots at fellow Forum Members for something to do.

It's a mistake asking most of the people here "what would you like to see".

It's "The Official XBox Forum".

It's purpose should be self-evident.

Make the XBox Forums For XBox Gamers who currently outnumber this minority gathering by over a million.

Az is right it should be about xbox one users and future users, stop trying to be PC as a mod, get the trolls and flame baiters out, iv also seen posts clearly written to cause flame wars using missinformation and opinions posted as a question to be left
by the mods, and some of my favoroute threads from good people really enjoying something xbox or just even sayin hi trolled all the way to the log out button. This forum should be a place where xbox users can come to say hi or look for some help and the mods
should make that happen, 1 or 2 mods reading posts regually would soon see who the problem people are, theres not a lot, but 1 is too many, gl mods.

 

@Goat, yeah, that's what I'm saying, it would fail hard. Although I think the top 3 would remain the same for those who would reply with a legit answer. Which is a shame that positive threads can't thrive.

@ GG, I always stay positive, no need to tell me that. Of course when I'm being positive I may get called a liar, a fanboy, or even an advertising agent, but we won't get into that here.

 

The problem would be how to handle those inciters... Banning does nothing, and the cycle just repeats. It is the Mods duty to regulate, and the community to ignore such behavior. This is common sense on most major forums. Yes, we want to see the Mods as
part of the community on a larger scale, but remember, they're volunteers. Just like us they are simply members of the community, only difference is that they get benefits from the Xbox Staff. Yes, there are faults on the site, but there is more fault at us
than them. I mean, look back on the first page and you see members who would rather have the forum shut down than see any negativity or "artificial positivity". Simply put it, we need more mods, and more open minds.
