has the new update broke my xbox

Ok so yesterday i tried to play ghosts and battlefield 4. both games i got a warning saying disc is scratched etc tried 4 times each both discs are in perfect condition so did a hard restart both times and it fixed it. last night i went to put titanfall
in and i couldnt push my disc in the drive it was like i was trying to feed my son some meds and he wouldnt open his mouth it came up with please insert a game and try again so tried again and it went in fine. this morning i go on and put titanfall in and
again same thing happens i swear this update better not break my xbox one!!!!!.

Good stuff. Glad it worked out for you. I have noticed from time to time that my 360 will also just hang for a few minutes waiting for the dash board to boot up. I assume this is due to the cache of stored info over time. Netflix, games and live. Do the
maintenance on the hard drive from time to time and you should be fine.

 

Don't know about disc issues because i don't have any ..I will say my kinect voice commands are a bit wonky now since the 1403

 

Sounds more like a broken disc drive than a software problem. This was a recognised problem from launch so it's a completely feasible explanation.

Sounds to me like a call to support may be in order.

 

I had a similar problem. I had not turned mine on in about two weeks, and when i finally did, I kept getting a grinding noise when putting a disc in, and then I would get a message to put in a Xbox One disc, music, or movie. I would take the disc out,
put it back in, and everything would work fine.

I went through this for about two days, then it just refused to play any of my games. I sent it in for repairs. It kind of stinks, because I have a brand new copy of titanfall sitting on my tv stand.

 

Lol at the feeding meds part! I know that feeling! :/ My advice mate would be to go through to phone support if it keeps happening. I hope it fixes itself though buddy, sucks being without a console for a small while.

Obviously I can't say for sure but my sons Xbox One had similar issues. For a few days it was a bit hit and miss whether the game loaded, kept getting the "please try again" message.

After about a week or so of this happening the drive started making a weird humming/grinding noise and it stopped working altogether.

Luckily though he took it back to GAME and they replaced it there and then. Where did you buy it? if on the high street I would just take it back and get it replaced.

Ughh...they are failing everywhere. Even GhOstz, the most ambitious Microsoft spokesperson I've ever seen on the forum is the latest victim. This isn't good!

This kind of makes me glad I went all digital - tough luck, Gh0stz.

 

Even if you go all digital, there will probably come a time when you notice that your drive is broken. Sure, all digital means you can dodge the fault but I'd rather have everything in good working order and nothing to worry about.

 

yeah just went to play ghosts and i had to hard restart yet again and its only been doing it since the april preview beta before i got the beta it was all working fine

 

I am getting a lot of errors, after the April preview update, mainly with friends related tasks, and my controller randomly crashes which can only be fixed by removing batteries and quickly turning it back on. Nothing with disks but then i am all digital

 

the same thing just happened to me while trying to play titan fall. tried fifa an the same thing. i downloaded the april preview update just before popping it in ...

I unplugged it from the wall hoping that it'll fix itself ....
