Has the Kinectless SKU changed your mind?

@ Endless - At least I never said the X1 was going to get Uncharted and The Last of Us at the end of this year.

That was a good laugh and a desperate attempt at lying to ppl to entice them to not think MS needs to buy games.

Oh and it was a great big lie and probably why it got deleted.

 

No regrets here. But yes, I would've purchased the Xbox One (without Kinect).

 

For me, I would have to say that the new SKU has not made me want to get a One.

I do want to get it eventually, but the Kinect had no real issue with my decision to get the One yet or not. There are Zero games on the One that interest me yet. Once a game comes out that looks fun to play that is on the One I would start to consider buying
it. For now, no game on the One is of any interest to me.

Also depending on what kind of cash flow I have at the time, I might still buy the One with Kinect. The camera never bothered me too much and since it can be unpluged anyways if I don't care for it I won't have to use it.

 

I agree with ICN3D, it's hard not to. Ideas are always borrowed by both parties, just at the moment seems tilted that way.

 

I never wanted a Kinect. It does nothing of interest to me--as of yet.

I did want an X1 and Microsoft management came out and specifically said the X1 and Kinect would not be sold separately.

Had I known that Microsoft management erred/misspoke/lied when they said the two would not be sold separately, I would have waited. But since they specifically said, there would be no separation, I made the purchase.

I have never used it.

I would have purchased the Kinectless version.

 

Like imptown, I would have waited to purchase. I have never hooked up the K2 that came with my XBOne.

 

No it has not. My original goal was to complete my backlog of Xbox 360 games before I purchased the Xbox One, plus it gave MS time to work out some of the early issues the Xbox One had. However I'm tired of the Xbox 360 and have loved playing Titanfall and
Ryse at a friend's house, not to mention that I have numerous DVD + Blu-ray combo movies and I want to watch those Blu-rays!! The new Kinect-less Xbox One didn't make me want the console anymore than I already did, I'll be purchasing the $500 one that comes
with the Kinect because I think the new Kinect is actually pretty neat.

 

Would have happily bought Kinectless, And yes I know at least one person who is going to buy it that wasn't.

 

Love my day one xbox one, the Kinect was a big draw as I can see the potential, not disappointed for the kinectless version I can understand its not for everyone, although I do think they have been slow in promoting it, and pushing through things to do with
it.

Looking forward to the GwG, and a little disappointed we aren't hearing of anything which shows of the kinect as a main addition.

And I will be dissapoined if the kinectless people get kinect options like voice commands. (Dissapointed but not gutted).

Looking forward to E3, and the future.

 

If MS has announced that X1 would be sold Kinect-less and that the UK market wouldn't have TV channel integration (as is currently the case) then I wouldn't have bought an X1. Without MS's original vision the X1 is just a poor PC.

(Yes, I know once X1 exclusive games come out, such as Halo 5, which I wouldn't be able to play on my PC then I would be missing out - but not sure I'd want to spend £400 just to play Halo 5).

 

Considering you can buy the Xbox One with Titanfall and Kinect included for £349 in the UK, then you would have to be rather naive to pay £349 just for the console.

Admittedly shops will probably sell it for less than this, but in my opinion it's still overpriced for a console that should be able to handle 1080 easily as this has been the standard for several years.

I'll say it again, i would have bought pretty much anything Microsoft sold as a replacement for the 360, except for the Xbox One, and too be honest i'm still in shock at how a company could alienate it's fanbase so badly and get almost everything so wrong.

Trust me i wanted to buy this console so much, but even if the price goes below £250 i would still struggle to believe it is up to what i expected as a games console in 2014 as i don't car about all the TV stuff or Apps to a certain degree and see these
as a secondary bonus.

I'm gonna have to play it by ear and watch the feedback regarding Microsofts actions with paywalls, forced advertising (i DETEST advertising on my console), 2nd hand games and so many terrible, terrible decisions Microsoft made.

Can Microsoft be trusted not to change their minds again once they have shifted enough consoles ? I for one ain't gonna be bitten twice !

The only thing i can think of is some sort of 'User Agreement' that needs to be completed where Microsoft can not go back on the promises it makes regarding DRM and all the other terrible decisions they tried to force on us. That's the only way trust can
be restored for me and and as far as i can tell a hell of a lot of other 360 users.

Yes, the concessions they have made are a step in the right direction, but things need to be set in stone for trust to be restored - And even then, is this console good enough to replace my 360 ?
