Has the Kinectless SKU changed your mind?

With a kinect if I go with the preowned deal offered to me the other day.

If I don't go with that deal probably ill get the kinectless bundle.

If I go with the pre owned offer, I will probably just use it once to try it out and then unplug it.

It isn't really a necessity or a must have to enhance my gaming experience.

I think it's wise like you said to at least try it once, not saying you will like it but I know 2 friends that had no interest in it, now they use it reg.

Other's tried it and it went straight back in the box lol, but you never know.

 

@Forezee, I own both consoles and the PS4 can't do half of what the X1 can, who are you trying to kid? I really don't see any difference in the graphics, what I do find with the same games I have played on both consoles is the X1 has a much better Frame
Rate, games play much smoother.

To the OP, a couple of my friends that don't own a X1 are saving there money and will purchase a X1 with Kinect, they really like using mine!

 

No, since there is no price for it yet where I live, nor is there a release date for the Kinectless SKU. Still heavily leaning towards a PS4.

 

The first time a game releases on both 360 and One, and there are widespread reports of the 360 having a significant downgrade in graphics or game performance, that will be my cue to buy into the new system. It's nice to see all the opinions of people with

I wanted an X1 all along...just without Kinect....so this is exactly what I wanted.

That said....everything MS does with this new console is so scary. I mean....like I said in another thread....dropping the Kinect made me realize:

If they are willing to deviate completely from their "vision" and need to buy up as many games and content as they can....and then take stuff out of the paywalll...which is good.....then they really don't seem to know what they are doing.

It seems the "Do everything that Sony/PS4 does" plan is in full effect.

 

Typical coming from you iced. Copy PS4..... well considering that's what the "people " want well that's what they get. It works both ways. Sony has "copied" MS in some ways as well, no big deal really.

We all know the reason you won't get a x1 is because your girlfriend will kill you. Lol!

 

I get the KINECT one my place any way. I would get the KINECTless version for my dad place. If I want used the KINECT. I unpluged it from my places console.

 

I'd like to point out....that I answered the OP and am now getting antagonized.

WHY DON'T THE MODS DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT INSTEAD OF BANNING AND SUSPENDING THE PPL WHO DIDN'T START IT.

The decision to drop was why I picked up another console. Sold my original as the voice commands were ok at best. Then when a good friend of mine called to inform me they were getting ready to announce a Kinect-less bundle I jumped back in. Sold the extra
stuff and Kinect and ended up with a console and games cheaper than I could have purchased the Kinect-less and those games. You many think it crazy but the long term success was not going to be there with the Kinect included. That would have hurt with developers
just with the lower install base. Heck, the friend that called said that his studio was more excited about the chance to use some extra power with this console. And he was not the only one to mention that to me.

I can also say that I know at least 13 others who are now considering the One closely to the PS4 although they are still leaning the other way. Their favoring the Xbox brand and Live is pulling hard though. And as much as I like my PS4 (not a fan of the
PS3 really) I am more of an Xbox fan. Personally will be getting 3 more consoles before the end of the year. My wife enjoys halo, gears, and should enjoy playing Sunset with me and the kids. Overall I see this as a great move by MS.

I also will say that Kinect can be great. Not so much for a gaming console. But in the long run they very much have a great technology that will fit in to many things. They just need to push this into other areas like medicine, imaging, etc. which I am
sure they are and will.

No. XB1 without Kinect is not the same as the PS4 without the eye. It's a weaker system with older, slower ram. If the PS4 is @ $399 than the XB1 should be @ $349. That is when I will buy one again.

 

I would like to point out ic3d comes back after a ban spewing Sony this Sony that remarks. This is an Xbox one general discussion we don't care about Sony period.

Case in point: thread was deleted earlier. Ic3d was spewing off about PS4 getting dx13 in 2016. Thanks for the laugh. Let me guess your source, the Sony "insider" Thuway @twitter?

 

The Ps4 is getting something like direct x but can't exactly remember what it is called. All I can say it isn't direct x but something like it. If I could remember where I read about it Id provide a link.

 

Lofty: I will give it a go and just wait and see. Not like I am just going to instantly dismiss the kinect.
