Has Microsoft developed a 90 degree power adapter for the xbox one?

Unfortunately there is no "official" Microsoft power adapter with these features, the only option is to opt for a third party adapter.

What angle of turns we talking about being able to handle vs. real life cars? If you're talking a 45 degree angle a lot of F class cars can take that going 35-40mph. If you're talking 90 degrees you better have a car with much better handling to try the
same turn at that speed. I'm talking about a turn that is 90 degrees, but trying to shave that as you turn the car not actually making a 90 degree turn itself. The change made to the A.I. was beginners were more likely to cave into pressure going into and
out of turns vs. lagging on the straights. The lead developer talked about this in an interview.

So, your adapter is under warranty? Usually Microsoft's accessories has 90 days of warranty.

Microsoft said they were looking into an adapter, later on they confirmed they have one in development

It's probably what Drudge02 said.

But sometimes it's just that the headphone cable points straight out from the controller making it bend from using the controller.

You could use a 90 degree angle 3.5mm jack adapter. This allows the cable not get in the way anymore.
