Having had my left bumper just drop out of my 8 month old elite controller yesterday I had to return it to the store for a replacement. This also happened to my son's Halo 5 controller.

I also searched the internet and it seems there are a lot of similar failures, of which I can see Major Nelson has had some input though that was quite minimul and no posted resolution.

It seems to me there is some issue with the design or build quality of all xbox one controllers.

Hence the question, have these issues been addressed or is it just heads in the sand and hope more customers accept the failure than those prepared to push their consumer rights ?

    :)

    Elite Pad Loose sticks

I spent more than the asking price for one of these pads, the pad has a great feel, shame that the analog sticks have already become loose, really poor show from Microsoft on the build, considering how much they cost they could of made the analog stick base
out of something that wasn't going to crack.

I have 2 year old pads that have lasted longer!!!

I see by the lack of response and the fact that Argos had to change it again for the same issue, this time it only took 2 months for it to occur the answer is nope, lets just blame the user and/or bury our heads in the sands on this issue which I add again
is not just restricted to the elite controller. Other common xbox one game pad issues from research include excessive stick drift and the rubber grips on the pad body suffering premature wear.

I really feel for the countries that only have 3 months warranty on these products and very limited consumer rights.

Fortunately in the Uk we have 6 years of statutory rights over shoddy manufacturing so even beyond the 12 month warranty here you are still entitled to either a free repair, proportional refund or replacement at the choice of your place of purchase, yes
thats right the likes of Game will try to fob you off telling you to contact the manufacturer after 30 days but thats nonsense, you contract is with the store even under the new consumer rights act and any store that attempts to avoid liability should be reported
to trading standards. Minimul evidence of common issues is usually sufficient to put your purchase location and or manufacturer on the legal back foot, the pain is knowing I will have to enforce them on a regular basis with a very expensive gamepad that should
be made more sturdy than this. I have many 360 controllers that after a decade of substanstantial use have only stick drift issues from well worn sticks, which again speaks volumes that all xbox one controllers should not be suffering this kind of nonsense.

So whilst I am aprehensive to use the elite pad on an everyday basis, thats what it was bought for, it is supposed to be superior to all other pads and that should include build quality so I damn well will use it and I will excercise my statutory rights
how ever many times it is needed.

Please take note Microsoft and get this issue sorted, especially if the rumours are true and there is a new edition of the elite pad on its way to market.

    Day one controller coming apart?

My controller does this, it feels like I'm playing with an accordion in my hands. The pad is becoming like a stress ball able to twist and bend into different shapes depending on the game. The pad is a better design, more ergonomic and more features but
the build quality seems poor. I'll try the glue and make it last until they (hopefully) release a batch with better build quality / quality control - I.e. using actual glue or screws not wishful thinking to hold it together.

the controllers are so bad im on my 5th , the xbox 360 pads are much better I had the same pad for one year . im really thinking about trading in my xbox one for a ps4 . Microsoft need to do something about this , maybe bring out a 360 pad that works for
the xbox one . I know this will never happen but It would be better because xbox one pad has poor design in the thumb stick SORT THIS OUT NOW I cant afford a new pad every week I do want to buy new games but yhats all I seam to be buying is *** control PADS
